"10 Cool Things About Squirrels."

In the states I do not believe they are very common. Though in my home town we had them because a traveling circus brought some and they escaped. But besides that I have only seen them in my home town and thats it.

Never confide in squirrels... they carry tails. ;)

There are also Black Squirrels! :) They are also cute (and pretty rare from what I have read).

-LA

Black squirrels are an unofficial symbol of Kent State University here because they're found all over the campus. In fact, I think they've actually been put there for that purpose. You'll see them around the area, most of them having come from Kent State.

14. There used to be red squirrels in the UK until the grey squirrels (brought over from America) killed them all off..

there are still red and brown squirrells here :) they are rare though

They are pretty nifty fighters too...

They remind me of my fav - Chip & Dale. Probably I would freak out if one struggles in my hand to escape, but still, Chip & Dale make squirrels looked so cool and funny.

Chip & Dale are chipmunks, not squirrels. Or, are chipmunks a variety of squirrel? Hmmm.

Most chipmunks would rather not be mentioned in the same breath.
They're the "cuter" kind --- and they are. ;)

Ooops! How embarrassing again.. I better not mention anything about Chips And Dale again.

Donald Duck's a duck, right??

There was a story on CNN? last week of a squirrel attacking a bicycle seat at some college. It was funny as shit. It came out of nowhere & just started tearing the seat to shreds. It was a brave lil bastard too....students kept trying to "shoo" it away & threw water at it, but to no avail.

Being from the South I have to say they taste good too. :p

I wondered if anyone was going to mention eating them. My father hunted squirrel in the fall and my mother would fry them like chicken. I loved fried squirrel. Here in the south squirrel is an essential ingredient in genuine Brunswick stew. I don't know what variety of squirrel we ate, but they were big, fat (from autumn acorns) animals--and they DID NOT taste like chicken.

Just for a kicker, we ate wild rabbit too. My family bought very little meat during hunting season. We always ate fish we caught as well. And no, I was not raised in a third-world country (or state).

Squirrels are never cool to me. As a homeowner, I have had enough problems with those critters to put them on my "hate list."

I suddenly have a desire to listen to "Dueling Banjos".
