Still waiting on the Emmy website to update with the rest of the nominations for the supporting cast. Personally, I hope Megan Mullaly gets nominated for Will & Grace. Anyone you are particularly rooting for?

Also in the Lead Actor category for Comedy Series is the main actor from King of Queens... don't watch the show so I don't know his name off the top of my head.

I thought it was interested that both Best Series last season (Lost - Best Drama; Desperate Housewives, - Best Comedy Series) didn't get a single nomination this year... I heard that the new Emmy voting system may have caused that, where old favorites aren't just write-ins each and every year.

Someone who is always hilarious and makes the show....in my opinion is Jon Cryer ( Two and a half men). This guy is a HOOT and SOOOO much funnier than Charlie Sheen!
GO JON!!!! :gogirl:

The whole nominating process, even if it's supposedly been changed, is bogus. Lost gets shut out but West Wing gets nominated? Two and A Half Men gets nominated but not Desperate Housewives? Martin Sheen over any of the excellent actors on Lost? Guess I'll sit this one out again this year.

Lost and DH were not as good as their debut seasons.

Can hardly wait to watch The Donald eat crow as The Apprentice got shut out and TAR got 5 nominations. He always said his show was better.

Alas Lauren Graham and Kelly Bishop get overlooked again. This new system didn't make a damn bit of difference.

I am glad they realized 'Desperate Housewive's is not funny. And rejoice that Will Arnett finally got an Emmy nomination for 'Arrested Development'. How about that? 'Arrested' didn't even campaign for the Emmys and still got the Best Comedy Series nod....

I, too, am a little shocked over the praise for "fresh" CBS series like 'Two and a Half Men' and 'King of Queens'. Who knew? Traditional multi-camera sitcoms apparently are better to these Emmy folks.

Wow. It's come to this? Television really does suck. I'm rooting for Geena Davis, Stockard Channing and Martin Sheen. The rest of it doesn't mean anything to me. Genna Davis was screwed out of what could have been an incredible show.

It was a shame Geena's show was cancelled. It was the first show of hers that I liked. It needed to find a full voice, but it was getting good - esp. since I was going through West Wing withdrawl.

They totally changed how the nomination process works! What I read was that the old way of nominating went to the general voting academy who votes for these things. This year, only a select panel got to do the nominating, thus crazy noms for random people. I know Desperate Housewives is totally over-exposed, but Eva Longoria & Marcia Cross definitely should have been nominated. They did really good work this year; better than the over-rated Felicity Huffman and Lois Lane.

Once again, some of the best shows on TV go completely unrecognized. It's absolutely criminal that Lauren Graham & Kelly Bishop(Gilmore Girls)and Kristen Bell(Veronica Mars) have been passed over yet again. There are others that deserved recoginition, but l want to keep this brief. Especially in favor of all the lame, tired people from "Will & Grace" and Julia Louis-Dreyfuss???and Alfre Woodard???Come on,she's a great actress but she was barely on "Desperate Housewives" and when she was, it wasn't a great performance.

Is anyone planning on watching the Emmy awards tonight or are you going to skip it for other forms of entertainment?

I'm watching. I love award shows. And Conan's hosting.

I hate the nominate actors though. Especially in the Comedy Actress category.

Whoo! I'm so glad Jeremy Piven and Mariska Hargitay won...but as far as everyone else...I really don't care. The Lead Actress in a Comedy series nominations were seriously hilarious.

The Daily Show won!! :gogirl:

Pretty much the only category I cared about as all TV outside the daily show has gone downhill since frasier and will and grace got cancelled.

Hate everyone loves raymond
Hate king of queens
Hate world according to jim
Hate pretty much all new sit coms out there ](*,)

I am so glad that the funniest and most underrated comedy show on television won Best Comedy: The Office!!! That show is the best. Everybody give it a shot, you won't be disappointed.

I wouldn't say TV's gone downhill--just sitcoms. There's lots of other great shows out there that don't fit into the old sitcom mold.

But yessss, definitely agree about Everybody Loves Raymond. Apparently everybody DOESN'T love Raymond 'cause my ass sure doesn't.

The last 20 mins of the show was the best. I love "The Office" win and "24" and Kiefer. Hated Julia Louis' win. Jane Kaczmareck deserved it more.

Conan was really funny.

I'm glad The Daily Show won. It was nice seeing Bob Newhart. Not enough shows that I was interested in were nominated or probably won... all I was really interested in and wanted to see was seeing Dick Clark's appearance. I changed the channel after that.
