80s Songs!

eyeoftheshark, is that you in your avatar?

If so then you look all kinds of magic awesome! (!)

~

Are you talking about 80's songs in general, or 80's songs that were featured in 80's movies?

The song that you posted was featured in the movie that many think made Kevin Bacon a star; Footloose in 1984.

So keeping with that theme, I'll offer an 80's song from 1986 Top Gun,! ..|

I give you Berlin :D :

Take my breath away. :p

No discussion of the music of the 1980's would be complete without a mention of Boy George O'Dowd and his group, Culture Club! He wasn't the most beautiful drag queen, but his music did have an infectious feeling of happiness. Anytime I heard Karma Chameleon on the radio, (yes, once upon a time, I listened to Top 40 FM radio stations), driving back and forth from college (I was a commuter), I couldn't help but feel good.....:D

For Eyeoftheshark.....

In 1984 the "I Need A Hero" theme was used for the TV series "Cover Up" starring the sexy Jon Erik Hexum and Jennifer O'Neill. Hexum died in October of that year from a tragic gunshot accident when he fired a gun with blanks at his own head...

After Hexum died, he was replaced with another hunk, Australian hottie Antony Hamilton. Unfortunately "Cover Up" lost the support of its network, CBS, because of other controversies, and the ratings never quite materialized. It was canceled in 1985. Sadly, Hamilton, too, died an early death, in 1995, of AIDS-related pneumonia.

The eighties where awesome but the Bronski Beat got me with this song
