How in the hell do they expect to make a successful remake of Absolutely Fabulous if they couldn't pull off Coupling?

And they already tried a rip-off of AbFab in the 90's called High Society, and it flopped. Why can't they just leave well enough alone? :grrr:

What's worse is Jennifer Saunders is executive producer on this project. Why not put out a new series of the original if you're hard up for money?
 
This has the potential for being the worst idea in American TV history.

I saw the picture this afternoon on dlisted and just shook my head in disbelief.

Because Jennifer is co-producing and because I like Johnston, I'll watch the first episode, but, given that AbFab is one of my favorite sitcoms of all time (see subnic and signature), I'm having a tough time believing they can ever pull this off on an American major network. They're just too prudish and risk averse to allow AbFab-style humor on American TV.
 
Things like this that were so well done in the first place should never be retouched. And I can't believe Jennifer Saunders is in on this. She might as well step in and do it herself. And invite Joanna Lumley.

And if they try and redo classic scenes or storylines I will die.
Like the trip to France or New York.
 
AB Fab is one of my favorite shows and this remake is making me a little nervous, I hope that Jennifer was just too full of ideas and had to have the show go on, then it being on FOX isn't helping either, they move their shows around so much. I think they should have tried for a cable network instead of regular tv.
 
Loved AbFAb got it on DVD. Will give it a go but not expecting much of it at all.

Some shows should not be remade.
