Apparently, it's not just CNET readers but game developers who are among those demanding Sony cut the price of the $400 PS3. In an interview with the London Times, Activision CEO Bobby Kotick has some strong advice for Sony and threatened to pull its support for the console.

"They have to cut the price, because if they don't, the attach rates (the number of games each console owner buys) are likely to slow," Kotick said. "If we are being realistic, we might have to stop supporting Sony." As for the timing on that, he adds: "When we look at 2010 and 2011, we might want to consider if we support the console--and the PSP (portable) too."

They're so right too.

I mean really if Sony cut the price on the PS3 I bet it would sell more.

^ A lot of PS3 exclusives won't be exclusive for much longer. Metal Gear Solid is coming to the XBox.

I read this a few days ago. I hope it does force Sony's hand.

I hope they don't bring the price down too drastically - I don't particularly want the morons you get on xbox live ramming insults down my throat whilst playing online.

Odd, I never get insults while playing. Maybe they're all wowed by my flower-growing prowess at Animal Crossing on the Wii...

I have bought only one game for my PS3. I use it primarily for watching movies. It is only 7 months old and gently used. It broke down last month already and I sent it for repair. Now I hold my breath each time I use it, and pray that it doesn't break down again after the one year warranty expires.

I will get one once it drops in price. I've been waiting some time now for a price drop. I refuse to buy it at its current price. It is far too expensive and with few exclusive games I actually want to play. When it drops I'll get one. I can wait Sony.

Ugh Activision. They are becoming the new EA. They are developing a brown touch. They are totally ruining WoW and now they know they are losing money with the PS3.

cool, i can only hope that actually decides to cut the price of the PS3 a bit. Not for my sake (I have one) but for others that aren't able to afford one.

I was actually thinking of buying a PS3, as I tend to like Sony products, especially video game systems. However, I am waiting for a price drop. How has the PS3 been holding up for you? In other words, have you had any issues with it?

I've been waiting for a price cut...

I'm currently on my third Xbox 360 and every time the damn thing breaks I tell myself I'm going to buy a PS3 instead.... but the fact that I have so much rock band music downloaded stops me every time!

But I do plan on getting one eventually for the FFXIII series of games as only the main stream one is coming to 360. I also want to catch on some games I've been missing out on such as Infamous and MGS.
