ok this Idol special sucks big time..poorly produced!! boring...so far its Earth Wind Fire and Il Divo....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz i bet most have switched to the recap of Top Model show

i bet its blake....he sucked last nite and kinda sucks overal....or it will be melinda..one of those 2 are leaving....no one else would be shocker.....blake is just a bit queeny..and melinda is good...but way to old and professional to be on the show in teh first place.
I think Jordan will win it...I picked her in a poll at work back at the top 36 show..she young and funky and kids will liek her and buy her CD...teens arent gonna buy showtunes by Melinda

I am confused so it wasnt a tie and someone did get the lowest votes but because it was a charity night it was discounted. And next weeks votes will be added?


But that wouldnt be fair to the other people that were really safe tonight, because what if they have a bad week next week and the lowest vote getter this week has a good week next time, it'll turn around.

If i was one of the really safe people i wouldn't be happy, if they are going to add tonights vote and next weeks vote together.

Earth,Wind and Fire are musical giants and were terrific...back from in the day R&B was really something great,unlike today's hip-hop infected abomination!Agree the show was poorly paced,too many clips and too few memorable performances(Josh Groban &Kelly Clarkson were terrific,though!)You absolutely DON'T end the performances with dull as elevator music Annie Lennox...what a snoozer!Not really anywhere near what it could have been,and even though the final result not sending anyone home seems fair on a charity-based show,it was an anticlimactic tease.And the less said about the truly perplexing and disconcerting "duet" by Celine Dion and a CGI-created Elvis Presley the better.A noble effort that gets a C-.

Natalie Cole and Nat King Cole together in that great "Unforgettable" video was truly amazing...this looked like a stunt.The first one had warmth and sweetness,this was like a technological amusement ride,but it didn't elicit a "Wow!" from me in the least.

Wow, sounds like we didnt miss much after all. We were po-d that the DVR quit recording after 1hr20mins(?). Maybe it was trying to tell us something...

I loved the Celine duet! She sounded amazing, and like her or not, you can't deny the talent! Not sure there would be an artist who wouldn't like the chance to duet with Elvis, even if it was a CGI, it just doesn't happen very often! I had a feeling they'd pull something like not voting anyone off this week. Next week should really be interesting!

I was pissed!!!!...He stareted out saying tha it was in no particularly way. So Melinda being called first has no standing what so ever. I was so pissed that they saved Jordin till the end....they made the poor girl cry...it was horrible

blake, lakisha, and phil will be in the bottom three next week

LOVED Kelly and Carrie's performances tonight!!!

Did anyone else notice that when Ryan introduced the clip about Katrina and a *still* ravaged gulf coast, he said it was 'sponsored by a 'generous' Allstate Insurance company' ????:eek: :rolleyes: :grrr:

Good God almighty, that has to be the most offensive, ironic and just plain
ballsy bull shitty thing I've heard on TV in quite some time...

Pardon my outrage...But really, *that* was just horrible.

Exactly the way I would like the finish to place as well.

It was cruel to make Jordan think she was going home...I felt so bad for her when she was crying.

The show was a snore. I taped it and watched hockey last night instead...then watched (with a lot of fast forwarding) it after. I really wanted to see Kelly perform...and was disappointed. Still really like her but...eh...Carrie was better. I was also disappointed with Annie Lenox...she always had such a power behind her voice and range, and I thought she lacked some of it. Celine and Elvis duet was weird. The white suits all the idols were wearing were just really odd too. I guess I was just really disappointed in the whole production...I thought with the talent they had it would have been more spectacular. I know it was supposed to be all for a good cause and all...but...:rolleyes:

Yeah...I saw the whole Katrina - Allstate thing. Not too sure on how Allstate did with the insurance claims...but from what I have heard about the other insurance companys, they royally screwed everyone.

I hate to say this...but I refused to give money to American Idol charity. Don't get me wrong $30 million dollars is a nice chunk of change, but how much of that is actually going to go to charity. I guess I have become jaded with some charities after the whole Katrina charity misuse.

I thought it was awesome that Ellen Degeneres personally put up $100k. Noticed that neither of the judges or Seacrest mentioned that they had donated money.

i thought the whole show was shit....i had three guesses when Ryan said it was the most shocking elimination ever...either Melinda was going home, their was a tie or no one was going home. I felt sooooo bad for Jordin when they made it look like she was going home. I loved Kelly and Carrie's performances. Celine and Elvis was weird and awkward....Annie Lennox was alright....and i don't remember any of the other performances.

i also hated that first song the Idol's sang...the Quincy Jones song....but i didn't mind the last song they sang

The Simpsons on Idol Gives Back

For some reason my DVD player didn't record Idol Gives Back on Wednesday and from all reports the part where the Simpsons played Idol judges was really funny. If anyone finds that video on YouTube or elsewhere, could they please either post it on JUB or give a link to it? Thanks.
