Okay, iw as trapped on a boat in the Carribbean and all they had was Charmed. I thinkt he show got pretty crappy after Prue died and I think they flopped the episodes around, so let me ask this stuff about story arcs so I can get it all straight. So let me know what order these story arcs happen in:

- The Charmed Ones become gods, Leo becomes an Elder and fucks with Piper's brain and leaves her.

- The Charmed Ones fake their deaths and seek to change their lives but do the exact same thing they had always done. They apparently look different.

- The Charmed Ones are being tailed by some Ann Coulter-ish agent and are now helping some FBI agent with a fetish for magic. There's a 'coming storm'.

WTF?

None of those were really over riding ARCs the God's think was just a run of the mill costume episode and they never worked for that agent they just called in a favor so he could come up with an excuse for them not being dead... unless you're talking about the single episode where they worked for a government agent who turned out to be a witch hunter

Yeah. I agree that the show went south after Prue die. I used to watch it, found it interesting in the first few seasons, and stopped because there were better shows on, greys anatomy, prison break etc. Personally,i think that some of the special effects were too fake and not interesting at all.

Never understand how sci-fi/fantasy/supernatural shows with a good premise (Dark Skies/Invasion/Firefly/Farscape) get cancelled after one or two seasons and stuff like Charmed gets 9 years...

Sorry, just an opinion...

It Isn't charmed's fault that all those shows got cancelled. I liked Firefly but that was a problem with ratings and the network.

Charmed was awesome in my opinion when the show started up until the end of season 4. Yes the quality lessened but that was for a reason. I understand that their really is no excuse for some of the later storylines, which i enjoy still becasue i am a huge fan, but chamred has been through a lot. Many of the changes are acredited to the WB who demanded changes. They said they didnt like season 4 soap opera element, which accounts for the episodic style of season 5. Then they whinged about something else. What i am saying is, that the WB started dictating in which direction the show should be taken, and what target audience the show should be aimed out; hence the dumbing down of some of the later storylines and episodes, it was reaching the younger audience.

Not to mention its series creator being phased out by Brad Kern and all the prominent writers leaving after the demands of the WB. The show has been beaten and bruised by everything imaginable and it was still standing. It took me a long time to accept seasons 5-8 but now i love them too. Yes it will never ever be as good as 1-4, and Rose never really had the presence shannon did, but the show made me love the characters enough that i loved them till the very end. In the end i watched it for the girls, they were just brilliant.

Yes it will constantly be compared to Buffy and Angel, which i like too, and probably are better shows in terms of script and characterisation, but i have and always will like charmed better. I think it isnt fair to compare charmed to these shows when Buffy and Angel have been carefully written and cradled by the original creator, when charmeds mother was overwritten, and the WB became its adoptive parents. Its not as simple as "stuff like charmed" when in its prime it was a better show then some of the shows you mentioned (in my opinion) and has been overrun by so many obstacles.

Oh another nut.. hehe ive got seasons 1-7 on dvd and waiting for season 8 (released in oz next month)

I Love charmed too. I am huge fan. My favourite season is probably 3, but i like each in their own way. I find it hard to love seasons 7 and 8, but i still do. I have heaps of charmed stuff too and ive been buying the magazines. When you say Book Of Shadows do you mean the DVD set? Or did you actually buy a replica of the book?

I want the Book set by i already have seasons 1-7 on dvd. I think ill do it anyway. I am obsessed with Prue always have been. Anyone hear that Shannen Doherty has bought the rights to Charmed?

I'd love a charmed movie, but i dont think it has enough loyal following. My friends constantly bag me out for still liking, but i love the girls to death, they make it and i could never turn my back on them. They feel like family sometimes.

I cant stand billie, but id be all for a charmed sons spin off if they took it seriously and make more human-based storylines like they did in the first four seasons. Particularly in the first 2 seasons actually. Im also hanging out for the Seasons 8 dvds, i live in Aus too. By the time channel 10 shows it i could be pregnant.

Any Charmed Fans? - Who misses Prue?

Hey guys,

Don't you guys miss Prue. It just sucks the way she left, Shannon Doherty barring even the use of a freakin photo in the house. Although i watched Charmed till the end and although in theory the idea of showing Piper and the girls in the future might be good in the sense it shows the grow on, i can't help but feel poor Prue was the victim. She doesnt get a photo, they dont care about summoning her, she wont get to see pipers kids, and she didnt get to have kids of her own.

It feels like her only destiny in life was to sacrifice her own life to raise her sisters and then being killed without ever getting married or having kids or leaving anything else behind. And whats worse you have grams and Patty popping in every five minutes, and we cant even see her.

I'm honestly thinking about writing a letter to "Ask Brad" (Brad Kern the show runner who took over after Constance M Burge the series creator left over creative differences) and tell him that Charmed fans feel duped. If they had just brought prue back, or talked to her in the last episode i wouldnt be so sad. Im sad anyway becasue the show ended, but i also mourn the loss of a character that seems to be forgotten.

So yeah ill tell him how harsh it is aobut Prue. And ask him maybe if he can write a novel version in which Prue returns. I mean its perfect, he doesnt have to worry about Shannon Doherty footage, costume, budget cuts which seem to have decimated the show none of it. He can also make the demons as grisly as he wants without having to worry about payment for prosthetics. Whatever it takes.

I recently asked a question to ask brad about Constance M Burge and if there was somehow i could write to her, and see what she actually intended for the series. And Charmed Magazines latest issue actually showed one image of Prue which is like the first in 16 magazines. So hopefully Shannon has gotten over the whole you-cant-show my-pictures things.

Sorry this is so long winded, but the whole Prue thing kills me. I've been dreaming about her return since the 8th grade, and if he cant do it on screen do it in a book. Hell release a script on the net i dont care but do it.

prue was cool but i'm a huge rose mcgowan fan ever since scream came out so i was very happy she joined the show after shannon left. i miss shannon on scare tactics. that was a good show.

Of course i miss her, loved her powers in the show and her character as well. I hated seeing her die. While not my fav sister on the show i didnt hate Prue at all. I enjoyed what she brought to the show.

only thing cool about prue was her powers. and im not sure but somewhere i thought i heard that they way she left she didnt want the show to use her photos or nething by showin her face like in past episodes. thas why in that one episode where phoebe n paige go see pipers memory u couldnt see prues face and the only way they saw her was wen she was a dog.
not only that i dont really miss her cuz it was mostly bout her when she was on the show, ever since she left i think the characters story balanced out.

I'm not sure that it's effective to threaten a mail-in campaign a year after the show has been canceled, but good luck with that...

Even after that, however, I think a number of Charmed fans would agree that getting rid of Prue was a great idea. She was the worst sister, and it felt like the writers only included her because they had to; Prue sucked the life from the show in a lot of ways...Sorry, but ding, dong the witch is staying dead...

There were more Prue fans than any other sister on that show.

THe show tried to replace Prue with other sister name Paige and that did not work so they tried to make it up with Alyysa Milanos breast.

Both tactics failed miserably and the show suffered.

Im really getting into the show now. Its run on australian tv has been nothing short of pathetic , it used to have a 9:30 slot , but during its popular days when Paige came in it got a 8:30 timeslot. Then it was taken off and pput on fridays at 7:30 , before being put on at around midnight on a friday before being taken off for good , its only now they are playing it everyday at 12 noon.

Do you have proof to back this claim up? Because I heard a lot of fans say the opposite and I can't take just anybody's word on this.

OO I Love Charmed.

But I think that Prue was way too powerful. She has all the power while Phoebie got stripped of her already sucky power.

I miss Shannon but not Prue.

I love the show. I love Prue (love Shannon), she was my favorite character; but I also love Rose Mcgowan. Paige did not replace Prue they are 2 very different characters. When the show came back for its fourth season the sisters missed Prue in the beginning but they could not keep mourning through the whole show it would have gotten boring. The show changed ofcourse but not for better or worse I loved both story lines before and after Prue. Charmed is and will always be my favorite show. To Charmed

I know a myriad of charmed fans who will disagree with you. The writers had her there because thats how the story originally was. Constance M Burge the series creator pitched the idea with Prue in it. She left the show as executive producer after season 2. Paige was in NO way her idea. And if anything paige was only added becasue they had too.

How did Prue suck the life? She helf them together. She is the classic older sister. In terms of the Mythos, Piper and Phoebe wouldnt have been raised if it wasnt for her. I think the decline in ratings will show that the fans infact favoured Prue over Paige. Greatly.
