Las Ketchup - disgraceful!!!
Tiziano Ferro - ugh!

Now that I spoke my mind on those "artists"...I'll add some later on.

it's kinda amazing that you managed to compile such a long list with not any artist worth any attention in it ..

Thank you for posting these. I enjoy music from other countries than my own. Alizee has been a favorite ofmine for some time...|

thats nice for europeans

but oh my godddd

Was a french I can tell evrybody we have better artists than Alizee.. she was only famous for girls between 8 and 14
lol

hey i like alizee, i dont particularly like that song nor that video, but she actually does have some pretty good songs. shes also gotten really famous in mexico recently. but personally i recommend the soho dolls, the klaxons, lily allen, ladytron, mala rodriguez, the hedrons, and sahara hotnights.

Yeah i know alizee has been really famous in Mexico lateyl... thats why we dont hear much from her nowadays in France

Nice complitation thedolaon !!

You need to listen to other music. I realy hate all the music that you have selected. The best known is not the best european music.

... Django Reinhardt, Edith Piaf, Beethoven, The Fall, The Kinks, Bjork ...

Ida Corr Vs Fedde Le Grand : Let Me Think About It

Love it!

bjork is a start .. as for that trash/death metal growl stuff .. yeah it a kind of music - but none of those bands are rather known, or am i mistaken ;)

after looking it up - you are right. carcass seems to be pretty popular. but i am far away from the death metal scene for a long time ;)

ok after much nagging about the selections here I should add a bit stuff myself

from Germany, quite popular since a few years
"wir sind helden" (we are heroes)

mediocre music if you ask me, but their texts really make it up for that. nice mix of everyday stuff with a slight potion of cynicism and criticism/self reflection. also a very nice live experience. they are somewhat popular in other european countries, too.

the hives from sweden:

awesome band, awesome music - and an almost impossible to top live experience. those guys know how to work an audience.

mariza from portugal

sings traditional portuguese fado singer. the themes of fado are mainly about pain, sadness and yearning for better times. sad but beautiful music.

There are many, many wonderful musical artists in Europe. St. Etienne, Etienne Daho, Hooverphonic, are some of my personal faves. [ As an aside...Don't you find it interesting, Montimon, that many of the jubbers responding to this thread are so opinionated and rude? There is really no reason to bash any of the artists listed in the thread. Music is a highly subjective thing and there is no accounting for personal tastes. That being said, I believe some restraint should be shown when offering blatantly negative posts. ]

personally I see every reason to bash every "superstar" tv-show quality "artist" along with those "artists" where you should intrepet the term more in terms of "actor" because he has nothing to do with the music that he is pretending to perform.
