I read an article recently about the best and worst cover songs of all time and thought it would be fun to get your opinions. Here are some of my faves and not-so faves:

I can't say I dislike what No Doubt did with "It's My Life", but I think the original still beats the remake.

Best remake? Jimi Hendrix's "All Along the Watchtower" (Bob Dylan).

Worst remake? This one comes to mind.

I love cover songs! I really like to hear other artist's take on a classic. So I really don't have a favorite.

But one of the worse covers has got to be Hilary Duff doing 'Love Is a Battlefield' on tour! It is horrible!

both of New Found Glory's "From the Screen to the Stereo" albums are chock full of great covers!

I think if you separate the originals from the people that covered them... that it'd be alot easier to read...

BUT!!!

One of the best covers i've heard was Jack Off Jill's cover of "Lovesong" - originally done by The Cure.

I also happen to really love Marilyn Manson's cover of Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus", and the Eurythmic's "Sweet Dreams".

One of the worst? I'll get back to you on that.

(by the by, i love Its My Life!!! No Doubts' take is one of my favorite songs/vids)

I was listenning to HIM's cover of Blue Oyster Cult's "Don't Fear The Reaper"

I loved it.

And Marilyn Manson does awesome covers. Sweet Dreams comes to mind....I love the music video for that song.

BAD: Badly Drawn Boy did a pitiful version of "Thunder Road" by Bruce Springsteen.

GOOD: Tom Waits recently did a stunning and beautiful version of the Ramones "Danny Says".
