yes i've seen it too, it is a film of complete & utter beauty between taylor & newman. i saw it day before yesterday & first time the end of last year

suddenly last summer is another paul newman movie you would like also, in the same vein as cat on a hot tin roof [i like it better].

I think that montgomery cliff was in suddenly last summer, not paul newman.

If you're checking out Tennessee Williams film adaptations, have a look at "A Streetcar Named Desire". Marlon Brando and Vivien Leigh were never better.

And if you want to see a different performance from Elizabeth Taylor, I recommend "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?". More than just a pretty face.

Excellent film. The strong homosexual undertones had to be cut due to the decade in which the film was made. I remember reading that Newman (who was very gay friendly) was pissed off about that. Elizabeth looks beautiful. I love at the beginning when she scoops up that ice cream! LOL.

If you haven't seen Liz Taylor in Father of the Bride or its sequel, Father's Little Dividend, definitely try to find them. TCM plays them regularly. She's a revelation in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Her final scene is shattering. Dame Elizabeth earned every inch of that Oscar!
