She's featured in an advertisement on television these days and, I swear, that woman looks exactly like she did 30 years ago. I know all about make-up and plastic surgery and all that, but Charo still looks like she's had none of it.

She's 9 months older than I am. I see her and I think, "Wow!!" I see me and I think, "Oh, crap."

She's 55, but I think she looks a good 10 years younger. She's obviously quite athletic and I remember from the Surreal Life shows that she works out religiously. That may have a lot to do with her youthful looks.

She was a health nut from way back when. I guess it works.
 
I think it must be like "The Portrait of Dorian Gray" - she's got a covered painting in her attic that shows her like a withered old crone. (Kootchie Kootchie, Indeed!)
 
When I lived on Kauai, she had a restaurant called "Charo's" (go figure?) on the North Shore near Hanalai.

Maybe living in such a beautiful and peaceful place with so much fresh air and little polution or stress--maybe that's helped her retain her looks.
 
Her nose always bothers me and she does NOT look the same. Maybe if you squint or pass by her very quickly, but no.
 
I'm sure that she's had a few nips and tucks, but they are obviously discreet and well done,unlike many. I think it's a case of true inner beauty and really good genes.And I'm sure the kootchie-kootchie plays into it somewhere.

BTW, if you are a fan of flamenco guitar, pick up one of her albums. She is quite gifted and you have to respect any one who can play guitar that well with serious fingernails like hers....

I'm not a fan, but I've seen her play when she used to do the talk-show circuit. I was quite impressed and amazed at her talent. It certainly belied her image.

I think that's an insurance commercial you're talking about. I was thinking the same thing. I can see some aging, but was suprised at how little she seems to have changed. Prysilla Presley looks downright scary with her plastic surgery and Joan Rivers looks like she would shatter if she fell down. Charo might have had some surgery, but whoever did it did a good job.
