Country Music Anyone?

Yes, I love country Music. Enjoy Kenny Chesney alot

I, too, am mostly into classic Country and older Bluegrass. Hank Williams, Johnny Cash (though I've loved everything he did pretty much, classics through currents) and indeed the Carter family's mountain music, Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette, Bob (?) Wills and the Texas Playboys, Dolly Parton's older stuff (Coat of Many Colors, Jolene), stuff of that nature. Might be that I just haven't paid enough attention to newer Country, since it seemed to become indistinguishable from pop music for a time. But now it seems the traditionalists are coming back.

Oh--and the Dixie Chicks are incredible sometimes.

I listened a country a ton in the mid/late 90s and in the 2000s up until about two or three years ago. Have kinda fallen out of it for a while. Love Garth Brooks. Don't like many new people with the exception of Carrie and Taylor. Loved Rascal Flatts from around 2006 and before. I think their stuff went downhill after the What Hurts The Most period.

With the few exceptions of Carrie, Taylor, Kellie, and Rascal Flatts, all of the new country isn't that great. Classic country will always be the best country. It seems it's all aimed towards a more popish sound. Brad Paisley and Keith Urban are nearly pure pop...as well as Rascal Flatts, but they incorporate country into it as well. I love country, but some of it...way too pop for me. Even Taylor is moving pop. Luckily, she still has pure country songs on her latest.

these are my two favs right now

Gloriana - Wild At Heart
Cheyenne Kimball(you might remember her MTV reality show when she came out as a teen pop/singer/songwriter) this is her new country act that is opening for the Taylor Swift/Kellie Pickler tour this summer

Cheyenne had absolutely no vocal talent whatsoever, which is why she never went anywhere.

And I'm annoyed that Michelle and Jessica aren't together. They both suck without each other as far as country is concerned. They fit so well together, and it's disappointing their album wasn't very successful.

I do love some country just not the trailer park country

Juice Newton
George Str8.
Shania Twain
Jewel
Olivia Newton-John (Early stuff is country)
I LOVE Dolly Parton
(Almost broke up with my man 6 months ago so I realized I loved him too much and played HERE YOU COME AGAIN from my 45 when he came in from work. Fun Nite :P)

Damn I've been playing alot of country lately too and I can't think! Some artists have country SONGS but aren't always country.

One song i like is by Mazy Star called Fade Into You.

i didn't mind Cheyenne's stuff...but she's not the main vocalist in this group...so it's not all her.

and I like that Michelle and Jessica are taking time to do their solo albums...I've always been a HUGE Michelle Branch fan...and I remember talking to Jessica when she was just a fan of Michelle's on her message boards before they became friends / she became her backup singer and eventual singing partner.

and their album was pretty successful...I believe it debuted pretty high and they went on to be nominated and win quite a few awards.

I also love The Dance By Garth Brooks, such a sad song.

Crazy By Patsy Cline Is One of My Favorte Songs of all time, period.

and My Valentine by Martina Mcbride, is it just me or does this song bear a strong simlarity to Hero by Mariah?

This one reminds me of my Dad ... He always drove a Thunderbird - While he still could ... Alzheimers prevents driving now, but he still has two in the garage, just can't remember where he put the keys!!.

Song is titled : Silver ThunderBird by Marc Cohn

If link does not work just google it.

Jo Dee Messina recorded that on her second album, IIRC. Great song. (I used to have a silver Thunderbird. Loved that damn thing. It was assassinated by a deer.)
