I have to be very drunk to dance in the first place which I probably wouldn't do if there was a straight guy I liked around so I haven't do so at all yet, but I'd imagine you cuodln't go very far before it got weird.
 
I think it really depends on the straight guy. For some, simply getting on the dance floor with you would be strange. For others, it might stop at the 'dancing close' stage.
 
The last time I did that was when I was 12 or was it 14? My friends were practically too shy to ask the girls to dance, and besides there were more guys than girls, so the guys just jumped onto the dance floor and danced with one another.

Now that I think about it, hmm.. there was no worry or any care in the world. No fear of gay label or anything. I miss such times.

its like this iam going to be having a going away party with some people from work and i know a straight guy from work who will probably come who is cute and will dance with anyone when hes drinking

There is such a thing as a friendly dance! At my wedding I danced with a very hot str8 guy who was in the wedding party! I have a pic of it in my profile. He had no problem with it. We had fun. I was not rubbing my thang on him but I was joking around and got a little close but not on him!

I was dancing with a group of coworkers at a str8 bar and eventually the girls paired off leaving me to dance with the other dude. Over time we kept dancing with each other and did end up getting very close. My fingers went where they went, I touched root, he got a chub. That's about all that happened. He didn't have a problem with it and neither did the rest of the folks on the dance floor...

there is no general rule for this.
know the guy, know what you can do. start slow.

i've done almost everything regarding that with straight guys ;) but there are some whom i even wouldn't look into the eyes on the dancefloor.
 
Why is it so important that you dance with a straight guy? Some kind of fetish thing? It aint gonna go nowhere so what's the point?
 
I dance with straight guys all the time. it's fun... I also get them to buy me drinks. I have the hottest fag-hag girl friends in town, they are all professional NFL cheerleaders for the Saints, and when we go out straight guys are all around us. The girls make them dance with me too, hehe. This one night we went to the casino for drinks before we went club hopping on Bourbon St. and these two straight guys gave me $500 if I would invite them to go with us and of course I did. They also bought the girls and me drinks all night long. I was grinding all over them on the dancefloor and they didn't mind. I have some pics from that night.

Anyways to answer your question I think it might get akward for him if you start grinding and what not. I think if you're just dancing and having a good time and it's not meant to be sexual or anything it'll be fine. On the other hand there are some straight guys that just like to get down and they don't care who's ass they're grinding. I have no idea what type of guy your friend is but I'd play it safe if you're this unsure. Most likely if he's the type that will do anything you would know by now. Gee I guess if I was intoxicated I would dance with a straight guy but not for long knowing he is straight. I definately would feel more comfortable dancing with a gay guy or a lesbian.
 
I've danced with some of my straight male friends. We knew it was just for fun and nothing happened. We were just playing around on the dance floor for a good time. Same with my straight and lesbian female friends,; we just play around and dance without any sort of rules or restrictions.

he is the type who would do most anything i mean its all in good fun i mean him smacking my ass was a bit of a turn on but i mean i hadent had much to drink so i dident really do anything but i think when im drunk i could do more which could end really bad or good i guess oh well we will c what happens
