Okay so here's the low down.

I recently quit smoking, but I started back up with an old habit. I started dipping again. I dipped from the time I was 11 to about 19, and then I started smoking. I quit about a month ago but I picked up dipping again.

Now here is what I don't understand. The whole reason quit dipping is because I had so many girls tell me it was unattractive, but for some reason now that I am dipping again, the guys think it is sexy? WTF? I even had one guy tell me that he thought I looked like a sexier Toby Keith when I dipped. ;) I don't get it? Why is it sexy to some guys? I personally hate it, but.......

What do you guys think of guys that dip? Would you have a problem dating a guy that dips?

No offense, but I think it's disgusting. I guess it's personal taste. Then again, I also dont like smoking.
 
I assume that dipping means chewing tobacco? If so, it's just as bad for you as smoking(or so I've heard). I too, think it's rather disgusting (read: I don't necessarily think the person is disgusting, but the act is).
 
You know what, I have this odd fascination with men you can tell dipped at one time or another. There's something about the lower lip that's just a total turn on. Maybe it's that the lip is turned out slightly or that it's not as tight against the teeth there, I don't know. But to me, it's sexy as hell. Of course, I've never dated or kissed a guy who chewed when we dated, so I can't be of real help here, but those are my observations.

Okay I know it is gross. I will give you that. But would it stop you from dating a guy that was really sweet and nice and thought the world of you and cute aswell?

I wouldn't be able to share a bed with someone who did tobacco -- except in a pipe. Pipe tobacco leaves a more pleasant breath than the other forms, in my opinion. So I'd have to tell a guy, Dude, lose it, or me, because it just won't work.
 
Quit again Dirk, If you want to know why come and see me. I have O2 tanks all over the house and my car. I am getting better, but can tell you it is a killer, and there is n othing sexy about it. Those guys only like the trailer park trash look, and smoking goes along with it.
 
Well I can see everyones point of view. and I thank you all for your opinions. I quit smoking because a "friend" asked me to. But I went like two weeks without smoking and everyone around me said I was being an asshole, so that is the reason I went and started dipping agian, i can be a real bear when I don't get my nicotine. I know it sounds stupid and it's really lame to say I am addicted but I am. I have to have it, or I get the shakes and I can't do my job. I have tried all the patches and pills before and none of them seemed to work for more than a few days.

I do have it under control tho, I am not like some people I know that dip 1 or 2 cans a day. I can make a can of dip last up to a week. I only take a pinch when I feel the shakes coming on, or I get stressed. I will quit eventually, I have watched too many family members die from tabaco products.

I wouldn't say that it is a dealbreaker if I started dating a guy who dipped. I don't think that it is sexy, but I wouldn't mind it as long as he wasn't going through 1 can a day...should last him a week.
 
When I was in high school, a lot of guys dipped Skoal. I never cared for it. My Grandmother dipped Sweet Peach snuff. It doesn't bother me, since I grew up around it. You are at a higher risk of getting oral cancer. That's a good reason not to dip. If you enjoy it, and know and accept the risks, more power to you.
