.....4 Juber-Thumbs up for Excellent…..I saw the Flick yesterday and the Theatre was packed to the MAX for the early matinee showing. Miss Anne must have told her relatives to come to My theatre and take all the Good middle-row seats.

Now I must admit when I saw the Django trailors I wasn’t too impressed but I still plan to see it. Then the last 2 weeks there has been so much controversy about the Plot of the movie, the over the top Derogatory language, the blood splattering and blah, blah, blah…So like most movie goers that kind of Publicity had me running to the theatre on premier day instead of waiting for the weekend..

DJango is a very, very good movie and Quentin Tarantino deserved his recent Golden Globe Nods for Best Director/Best Movie/Best Screenplay. The over the top Language, Action scenes & overall Plot is typical of the average Film genres being made today. We all know this is the world Quentin lives in... Artists have to take risks and shocking the Viewer is part of the Entertainment process. I give Quentin a lot of credit for doing double-duty by writing an excellent Screenplay and directing a comical and suspenseful Western centered around Slavery. You know what to expect when you see one of his Flicks but this particular Film shows he’s getting better and better with time. The only problem I had with DJango Unchained is the length of the Film. It was 3hrs but it felt like 5hrs. It was waaaay too long and even the people sitting next to me seemed a bit restless.

Christopher Waltz is truly a Masterful Actor and he’s part of the Glue that holds DJango together ….Chris deserved his Golden Globe Supporting Nod but it will be interesting to see if the Academy Voters snub him.. Leonardo Decaprio also deserved his Golden Globe Supporting Actor nomination not just for his Amazing acting but also for having the Best Southern accent we’ve heard in a long time. The older he gets the More Beautiful he gets. The close-up shots made his Blue Eyes look like they were scooped up from the Ocean. Samuel L. Jackson SHOULD have gotten a Golden Globe Nod and deserves a supporting Oscar Nod for being one of the Best scene stealers in the industry. Sam delivered the Goods and was on fire with his supporting role…Unfortunately for Leo & Sam I think they cancel each other out but the Good Critic reviews the Flick is receiving might make them game players when the Oscar nominations are announced. If Tarantino doesn’t get a Best Director Nod I say SHAME on The Academy….

DJango Unchained is definitely worth the Admission price and a trip to the concession counter….

Had I known there was a Final scene AFTER the credits I would have stayed.....This is a good enough reason to see it again...LOL...

It was AMAZING. That is all I can really say. Im still trying to get my thoughts together.

I should have known that there was a scene after the credits. Oh well, Ill see it one day.

I also just read that Leo Dicaprio really cut his hand in that dining room scene and still kept going. My next thought was 'Did he smear his real blood all over Kerry Washington's face' ?!

I love Leo and I know that he was in the zone, but that is a little too far. Ughhh. Im hoping that after they stitched his hand up, the crew gave him fake blood to smear.

Saw Django for the 2nd time today and it was even BETTER than the first time....I picked up on so much more this this time around..I even appreciated Jamie's performance even more this time...He was intense, never over-the-top, just flat out determined to get his Woman and that's all he focused on......Django grossed $30-Million over the Christmas weekend making it the #2 Flick in the Country after Hobbit...

When he waws riding away from those men and that slave smiled at him (the one that was gritting on him all the way to CandyLand lol), I almost cried. It was such a touching scene.

Last spring Smith was informally offered the role, but had to decline because of his time commitment to the film Men In Black 3. “I came really close, it was one of the most amazing screenplays I had ever ever seen,” Smith said. “I was in the middle of Men In Black 3 and [Tarantino] was ready to go, and I just couldn’t sit with him and get through the issues, so I didn’t want to hold him up. That thing’s going to be ridiculous. It is a genius screenplay.”

Considering Quentin intentionally wanted Django to be Intense, driven with Hatred for the Murderous White Slave owners, then the quest to find his wife, I think Will could have pulled off the role...The supporting players had the real Meat to chew on...

Shame on the Academy for NOT nominating Jamie for Best Actor. Now I don't think he deserved a nomination but most Critics thought so...

Im starting to think that the Academy hates Dicarprio. He didn't show up in '97 and he is forever blacklisted.

Atleast that is my little conspiracy theory

But still, Im really dissapointed.

Well Gatsby is coming. Maybe next year Leo.

I don't know what it is Miss Anne..But Leo's peers only show him a little bit of Love when it comes to the Oscar Nods....It's as if they're jealous that he picks Films to star in that become Blockbusters and they feel he has a ways to go to earn his stripes...

Then you have the GOD of HollyWood Harvey Weinstein intentionally NOT allowing the film to be screened in time for the SAG nominations. His freaking company Produced the flick and they fail to make deadlines for screenings....That's a JOKE in itself.

Last year Harvey and his Monster company produced Iron Lady and they threatned all of Gollywood that if Meryl Streep didnt get her 3rd Oscar he'd remember names...

Politics plays a HUGE role every Oscar season and I think Harvey didnt open the Gates of Heaven for Django because of some dealings behind closed doors....I think he wanted Kevin Costner to have that role instead of Leo. For whatever reason Kevin couldnt do it.

I saw the Gatsby trailer last night while viewing The impossible. The trailer didnt look promising at all but there's good buzz about it...

And at the idea of Kevin Costner and Will Smith in this film. So glad that didn't happen. Leo and Jamie were perfect for their parts.

Well, I like them both so I wouldnt have hated it.

I am glad that Foxx and Waltz were ultimately cast.

I was surprised because Lincoln has the most media coverage and Blessings going into the award season. I really thought Tommy Lee Jones would be the victor.
