If you're new, please read the Posting Guidelines. Banned content is in "List of Content Never Allowed on JUB".
The most important thing to know: images of persons under 18 years old are never allowed here. If you cannot verify that the person in the picture is 18 years or older, don't post it.

does anyone know wtf's goin on with XTube?

...plus, i know you're going to hate this like poison, but i can't help but notice the two that have bitched about my rant is someone advertising fratpad(... hmm) and a 'JUB supporter' how 'bout someone without advertising all over everything they say giving me some critique? no, wait, if you aren't getting paid for it, then it just ain't worth it...

What has me being a JUB supporter got to do with anything...I am a paid member of JUB and do not work for JUB.

Yes, you are entitled to your opinion just like I am, and if I don't agree with your opinion then that is allowable, or is your opinion the only one that counts?

I just find it amazing that someone would complain about XTube making a decision that is in the best interest of them and their employees.

Again, my being a JUB supporter has nothing to do with it.

Well i have noticed that soilwork can never take any constructive Criticism about the site he works for. Im not saying what is being talked about now is constructive just in general.

It's amazing that people think sites like JUB or XTUBE that gain in popularity over the years should just keep offering the exact same service for free. The more people who start to enjoy your site, the more expensive it becomes to host that site (bandwidth, employee costs, webmaster fees, advertising, etc.). I would much rather have my favorite site start to advertise or charge for some content in order to stay afloat so I can keep enjoying it.

And while I have not read every comment made about Soilwork's site, many of the ones I have read were not constructive feedback--they were mostly bitchy, hostile attacks. It's not so hard to understand why website hosts or employees would become defensive about their WORK when you consider that many posters hide behind the anonymity of the internet to be far nastier than they would if they had to stand face to face with the business owner.

As I see it xtube has caused their own problem...with anyone wanting to submit videos to their site it has to be under 50mb and under 5 minutes. (their rules) so what else did they expect to happen except 30 second promo vids..really?

And as far as any site getting negative feedback...if they are recieving so much negative feedback, maybe they should take alook at how they conduct business and how they relate to their customers past and present...and i could be wrong but isn't it ther role of any business to listen to their customer's concerns, needs and wants, not the other way around? Business no matter what kind are there for the consumer or patron not the other way around...just a suggestion.. Peace All

i notice alot of the regular users and their vids i'd been checkin out are gone. one of them was kicked off, the rest are still there but all there vids are gone. anyone else noticing anything like this?

I've noticed that too. I only have one favorite video left. the others are some how gone.

That is just the way things works. When you have something popular and alot of people know about it you are going to get alot of remarks/comments good and bad. Look at celebs and what they have to go through. And if every remark about soilworks site is bitchy then that should say something. I wonder how many of the signups are just one time?

Not sure what point the OP is making.

XTube is a much better place now it's got rid of all the spam-like multiple posters.

Altho' some of them are trying it on again...

When you have a successful product, as XTube does, there will always be parasites...

ok, i concede that the JUB supporter shot was slightly misdirected, i've just noticed that it's more commonly the ones who are 'supporters' that have their posts laden with ads, but as someone with a psych background i should know better than to assume cause and effect. but over all my point stands. and I don't believe I said anything against you having an opinion or putting it out there, I just personally would take critique more seriously from someone who doesn't obviously have an agenda (in this case through having no problem whoring their thoughts out through advertising) and in fairness honey, it was you and soilwork who initially hit back with comments dripping with disdain, I'm just giving myself right of reply just as you are, it's hardly justfied for you to take with one hand and push away with the other.

so, i guess we now wait until the 'i told you so' moment when they eventually go full paid membership/ free for only small commercial (highly paid for) clips anyway. of course they'll be smart enough to wait until this heated topic is dead and buried before doing so... but then i just feel sorry for you guys who are honestly defending them. I hope i'm wrong, seriously, i figure the best thing about being somewhat pessimistic is either you're always right or get pleasantly surprised. you put something too high on a pedestal, it just has further to fall.

same here, most of my favorite videos bit the dust, to be fair, I'm glad the spammers are gone, VERY glad

"dripping with distain?"

I thought both of us were pretty polite and really, I have no real interest in xTube but that I know at least one guy who runs the show over there and I reported what he'd said.

There's no big conspiracy, there's just a company that wants to stay in business so they need to make changes to do so.

you may remember that JUB had to remove all the contributed galleries a couple years ago. Some members were outraged and said that JUB was being greedy and that they were going to become a pay site very soon. It never happened... JUB just took steps to remove the junk that was taking away from what they wanted to become.

The galleries on the main page are now fresh, new and (unlike the contributed galleries), devoid of spam and 25 copies of the same tired photo set.

Every company must make changes as they get bigger and this isn't really different. Someone still has to pay the bills. Just like JUB much of xTube is to remain free and there ARE "pay" parts of the site.

Thanks for letting me clear that up.

God, I hate my macroeconomics class. It's the undefined role of the business to produce what the customer wants. While technically ultimately the business really CAN decide what to produce, how, and for whom, if they're not producing something in demand, they're shit outta luck cuz they're wasting their time.

I have a feeling xTube is going to do SOMETHING soon to make up for all the clips taken off the site. However, if they as a business felt that they needed to do this to keep xTube float, so be it. None of us here really know what's going on behind the scenes, so the decision lies in their hands. I'm sure it was a tough decision though, because they have to know how upset their viewers would be. But... that's business.
