just thinking it would be fun to list the commentary's you have liked. i alway look now to see if a movie has a commentary because i enjoy it has much as the movie itself. i'm a classic film fan so i will start with 'the bad seed' [1956]. the commentary was patty mc cormack [the child star] being interviewed by charles busch [ actor, playwright, and drag queen in nyc]. it was two hours of non-stop laughs and fun between the two of them. what is one of your favorites?

Lets see if I can remember which ones I liked the most:

Stir of Echoes
Idle Hands
Undertow
Apollo 13
Space Balls
Mysterous Skin
Rushmore
Resident Evil
Shattered Glass
Hills Have Eyes
The Goonies
GhostBusters
Garden State
Fight Club
This Film is Not Yet Rated
Sleepy Hollow

Those are the most memorable to me off the top of my head.

peyton place [about 1958] is another good one with russ tamblyn and terry moore [two of the main stars] doing the commentary. interesting to hear how the film was a scandal back then because it had incest and rape in the movie. terry moore claims most people had never heard the word incest before.

resident evils commentary was really good! haha....

i think another i watched and enjoyed was Repo! The Genetic Opera

I so agree with you on that one. The Bad Seed has one of the best commentarys I have heard on any dvd.

The original Night of Living Dead is another great commentary

my grandmother gave me her copy of the book that she bought when the book was first out. She told me she was so shocked when she first read it, said it was vulgar trash.......... I had to laugh at her........

another one is 'they live by night', a film noir classic, commentary done by the star farley granger and a film noir buff from san francisco. they talk about director nick ray wanting to groom farley as a 'james dean' like actor but america wasn't ready for that yet.

The Goonies without a doubt. Reunites the entire cast on screen for the discussion. Only weird thing is Sean Astin vanishes mid-way through with no explanation as to why.

He was asked as to why he had to leave, it turns out he was to present an award at a ceremony (don't know which one) where he was giving an award to Joe Pantoliano. He was also asked what message he wanted to give to Cyndi Lauper during the commentary but never got to: He wanted to apologize to her for the obnoxious way he and other members of the cast acted when filming the Goonies music video (they were kids, after all).

like the goonies, more than half the cast does the commentary on 'the outsiders' [soc's and greasers] matt dillon, c thomas howell, diane lane etc are very insightful about making the film. frances ford coppola [the commentary is done at coppola's home] is part of it also. the outsiders hold a special place for me because i spent alot of my younger years in tulsa where the movie was made. i know where every scene was shot.

OMG. I love Resident Evil's commentary. I thought I was so weird for liking it. LMAO. Milla Jovovich is so funny and I love Michelle. I really love the ones with the principle actors. The one's with producers and directors are really boring to me.

BTW does your Idle Hands commentary have more than just Seth Green. I think mine only has him. So inever checked it out. Did you get a special edition? That movie is so underrated. Whatever happened to Devon Sawa?

Yeah, Milla and Michelle on the Resident Evil commentary were so great (I especially liked Michelle complaining about the prospect of having to buy the Resident Evil DVD instead of being entitled to a free copy).

And, as far as I know, there is no special edition DVD of Idle Hands. I got the one that was first released, way back when I was in highschool, which is the 2 sided (fullscreen and widescreen) that has Seth Green and Elden Henson doing the commentary.

sideways [2004] has a good commentary done by thomas haden church and paul giamatti. the movie was centered driving thru california wine country and i think the 2 of them saved some the drink to consume thru the 2 hour commentary, they were very funny.

pretty much any of John Waters' movies with his commentaries. Some of his commentaries are better than the movies themselves.

i'm a classic film fan so i will start with 'the bad seed' [1956].

The only movie I know of in which the audience is requested not to spoil the 'shocking' ending by telling your friends what happens before they have a chance to watch it.
