Besides, MONDAY, October 5? Last I checked today was Thursday...
 
I don't buy it. There are always people that want to change the facts. I had a friend who emailed me after 9/11 and said she'd heard that the pentagon was a truck bomb and it was a conspiracy. The people who live in these fantasy worlds amaze me.
 
Living in Washington has good points and bad. The usual good point is that your national news is our local news but it is normally only reported upon briefly. Now, this scandal has taken up not just our local news but all of the national news and pretty much anything we would watch.

What makes me angry is the damage that is coming from this scandal. First, Foley checks into rehab for alcoholism which I have heard people comment upon. The comments that they alluded to were that alcoholism is a disease; therefore by his admitting he is also gay...was that caused by the disease? Is being gay something "wrong?"

I have also overheard the comments related to his perhaps having pedophile tendancies and, with is admission he is gay, only serves to intrinsically link the two together. Throw in the fact that he was molested by a "clergyman" and we now have the fact that sexual abuse causes people to be gay...back to the disease or disfunction hypothesis.

I am very sad that a Republican (or Democrat or anyone for that matter) cannot admit they are gay or be gay. We have come a long way; there is a long ways to go.

I have also talked to a lot of staffers on the hill and it is amazing that people pretty much have a good idea who is doing who, what, and who is gay and not. There are many others that I am sure are fearing being "outed" even as this breaks.

As for quoting Drudge...that is a joke in itself. Who can take that man seriously. Next, we will see quotes from Limbaugh, Fallwell, or used car salesmen named Shifty.

It sounds like the Republican Noise Machine. If the Republicans had done the "right" thing, to start with, investigate Foley with the first emails, instead of trying to cover their butts and hold onto power, this would have been cleared up months ago. It's not the emails or the IM's, it's the cover-up that is the problem.
 
According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats. This source, an ally of Edmund, also adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund.

Umm, dare I say -- consider the source? Not Drudge, which is bad enough, but this ex-page who accidentally got outed under his real name. He's horrified that people would think that, Omigod, he's a homosexual. So he gets his friends to tip off Matt Drudge that the whole thing was a prank.

Yeah, right. The part of the IM that ABC withheld, where he and Foley both had orgasms, is 45 minutes long. That's a lot of IM or should I say a lot of JISM. Why in the world would Foley go along with a stunt like that?

I do feel a little bit sorry for this guy whose name was released because ABC screwed up. But on the other hand, who exactly saved these IM's for 3 years? Isn't he the most likely suspect? A little harder to see why he would release them at this exact moment, if he's a conservative Republican.

But until we know the whole story it would be naive to assume that he had nothing to do with it. Could very well be that his getting outed is just deserts.

I really do not like his “confession” about been gay, in responding to pedophile allegations (although molesting 16 year old boys is not really pedophile, it is just wrong and immoral, been a man over 50)

This action would make de words been linked as a same thing; is like the word Pédé in French, that I am a little be worried that is been generalize as having the same meaning of the word Gay or homo.
 
That article is full of schit. It is known the emails & IM's were leaked by Republicans, not Democrats.

And Louis Freeh was not, is not and will not be appointed to investigate anything to do with this. Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi made sure of that.

That idiot needs to get his facts straight.
