Disclaimer: Influencer crushes are not really a 'problem' for me except very rarely. This question is just for fun.

I'm curious 'cause right now there are a couple of different dudes I've been looking at the past couple of days on Instagram. Both really gorgeous, muscular, tall, all that. Like, top 0.1% of dudes :lol2:. They both post workout clips and respond to the odd comment, but that's about all they have in common.

I guess they'd both be very much out of most people's leagues, but one's branding 'feels' a little more honest about it. It looks more tightly curated, a lot more fashion focused, professional looking shoots, a lot less 'fun' and spontaneity. I'd call this style more 'aspirational.'

The other guy's feels a lot more loose, casual, spontaneous, a bit more 'relatable' or honest, if you will. He acts just like everyone's really hot friend or something. In a way this style appeals more to me 'cause who doesn't enjoy some relatability, but should Instagram hotties feel that way? 'Cause you're never going to meet them, and if you were fortunate enough to know them, they'd probably be out of your league (mine at least, just being honest ) or constantly already with someone.

So in a way, the 'aspirational' style is probably more healthy, 'cause you can take what you want from it, like style or workout inspiration, without feeling so 'drawn in' by it 'cause yeah, it keeps you more 'in your place.' The 'relatable' ones draw me in a bit more, and the 'crush' can often be bigger, but the downside is that one could wish a bit more that it was 'real.'

I don't think I've ever DONE anything based on an internet influencer. I may look, read, learn from and about...but I haven't purchased or made changes.

The same
I really don't understand how they monetise their activities, nor why people follow them

Similarly, I don't really get all this influencer crap and don't think I'd know an influencer if I saw one. If they're all on Instagram, that explains a lot as I don't touch it.

It's not so much that I like influencers especially, also never bought anything, I just see pics of some guys recommended on my IG search and like what I see sometimes :p.

I don't follow 'influencers' because for the most part they are damaged egotists trying to sell 'product' and appear fake.

I would definitely go for 'relatable' guys who have animals around them and who do things like cooking and reading.
