Who will win this year? I think Fernando will do it again. Kimi or Schumi will be near.

I'm sorry and_rew but I don't see Jenson in the first places...

Shumacher will most likely. I'd really like to see Scott Speed do well, that boys hot!

I like Fernando a lot. He is very intelligent, his car seems to be the best at the moment and the Ferraris and McLarens are not trustworthy enough. Bar is doing well with Jenson but Barrichello...

I also like Nico Rosberg, I think he is doing it pretty well.

I've been to the GPs so far this year and Renault looks like they will continue on from last year. Agree that Button and Villenueve will both do better, but Alonso is my bet to win. By the way, I'm so happy to see an F1 thread on here. I'll post some pics of the drivers later.

Andrew, I'm not a jub moderator. Just do what you want. We have here time for all. We can comment the races but in the meantime...

Jenson... ehhh... not bad, but I'm sure you have more (and better) pics to show us ;)

Congratulations Andrew. He has done a good job again. I hope the bad luck of the previous GP is over. I read an article where Fernando says Jenson could win some races this year... Perhaps tomorrow is the first?

I don't see Alonso winning the champioship again this year. You don't get many guys in F1 winning back to back championships.

The person who should really win the championship if his car holds together is Kimi Raikonen.

Otherwise I won't be surprised if Michael wins it again.

Certainly not Button, he is yet to win a race after 10 years in F1

Yes, Kimi should win a championship but I don't think MacLaren is ready to do it this year. I don't know what's the problem with this car. I'm starting to think that Fernando was wrong when he decided to drive for MacLaren next year. Anyway, do you think Kimi will drive for Ferrari next season?

Waiting for start here at Imola. Questions for after race?

To answer a Question, YES - Kimi will be at Ferrari next year. I saw it comming for the last two years.

I predict that he will be the first teammate that will be as fast and faster than Michael.

Button - In a couple of laps he looses 15 seconds on the road, not talking about his pitstop. I don't know, more and more he reminds me of someone like Barricello, who will never see a World Championship in his life. Or Fisi, or Heidfeldt.

I also don't like Button (sorry Andrew). He makes good qualifications but that's all. He looses every chance during the race. Today's pitstop (although I think it's not his fault) and the horrible race in Australia says it all.

Barrichello. Hey man, I like this guy. It's not easy to be the second driver when the first is Schumi. He has made very good races two seasons ago. His problem is the same as other drivers, during the last years Schumi has won everything.

Kimi. He has to be much than faster to be the champion. Fernando was not the fastest driver last year but he had a good car and he finished almost all the races in the points. Of course, I am not an expert but I think this could be the difference.

I am sorry to tell you, that without the mentoring of Schumi and the support of the whole Schumi (Ferrari) team, Barricello is history.

You are right, you need a good car and to be consistent to win a championship. Alonso is indeed a dangerous customer.

Perhaps you are right, but I think you can't separate the driver from the team. It's the whole thing what it works or not. Barrichelo made 114 points in the 2004 season and Michael 148. I think it's not a big difference.

Anyway, what do you think about Yuji Ide? He seems to be involved in every incident. The crash of Albers was horrifying

Andrew - what is the list that you have shown in post 28? - it certainly isn't the finishing order from the San Marino GP. It shows the top five as Alonso - Schumacher (M) - Raikkonen - Button - Montoya, and seems to be talking about 57 laps. San Marino is a 62 lap race, and the final result was Schumacher (M) - Alonso - Montoya - Massa - Raikkonen.

In other comments about the race, it was yet another example of why Imola is a terrible track, as there was no prospect of a serious overtaking maneouvre. Renault managed to throw away what should have been an easy win by pit strategy that might be politely described as mad. Button and Honda managed to make a three stop strategy way slower that it should have been - he would have been lucky to make the top six without the pit incident. And, Maclaren clearly haven't figured out the kinks needed to make their care go fast. This race provided great evidence that the only serious challengers for the championship (absent a massive change at Maclaren) are Alonso and Schumacher.

I agree with you. Renault was wrong (again) with the last stop of Fernando. I don't know why, but the decisions made in Renault are always different that the rest of the teams and almost never get the expected results.

I want to see if the Ferraris run so fast in the following races. Imola is their home and always prepare this race in a very different way than the rest. But of course, I'm glad to see Michael wining again...

I must admit that I am not a fan of Formula 1. At the track with all the noise, hype and smells it might have something going for it but on TV? Na, I cannot get excited. Perhaps if the races could be limited to a few laps with smashes and engine blow ups all occurring at the first corner, it could be interesting.
