Hi guys, are you watching SyFy's "Caprica"? This Battlestar Galactica prequel is an excellent show, and one of the main characters (Sam Adama) is gay and he's married to a man! So Caprican society is a lot more advanced than most countries here on Earth.

Besides, Sam Adama is quite hot:

Caprica is broadcast on Friday nights in SyFy.

I know, I did not see that coming at all!!!! I kind of gasped a bit actually.... lol

Oh, great now I have to get caught up on the entire series and storyline.

I really think that Battlestar Galactica missed the boat on this one, and not just because it was cowardly. For a show that likes to make you think, having a gay character among the last few thousand survivors would have made for interesting TV. Is it selfish not to procreate if there are so few people left? With that few humans left, what if there really IS an odd number of gays. I'd have much rather watched that than that sorry mess that was the series finale.

There were bi characters (if not gay), but I agree that non-hetero relationships should have been more prevalent.

Everyone remeber that Caprica and Diana weren't just giving it to Baltar in their three way relationship.

Gaeda(sp) was hot for Baltar come on the actor said he thought the character was gay.

But yet when it came time for Gaeta to be outed, they did it on a group of webisodes that not only was never on TV, but will never be released on a DVD set.

The small amount of female only same sex stuff in the show suggests it is nothing more than a result of the mostly male writers throwing it in there for their own titillation.

I agree Battlestar lost is chance to explore its characters' sexualty. They only hinted Caprica Six and D'Anna loved each other as much as they loved Gaius in their ménàge à trois. The Helena Cain/Gina lesbian relationship was only in a direct to DVD movie, and the Gaeta/Hoshi relationship (kiss included) was only featured in a webseries (there was some homoerotic subtext between about Gaeta and Baltar though). It's nice they're doing it differently with Caprica.

Little Bill Adama even told his uncle he and his husband should adopt an orphan! That was sweet. So in Caprica gay couples can adopt children, too.

Is this the first openly-gay male character in a SciFi/Syfy show? I don't recall anyone before him.

I'm not disagreeing but FFM are kind of an old hat at this point. So is girl on girl anything really.

For people outside the USA (like me), we fortunately have Youtube.

Cheers, Lysander! You know just seeing a quick peck between two dudes was enough to win me over.
