Global warming debunked, again.

Proof - surely you jest.

There is no proof. No hard science.

All the gore crowd has are theories, speculation, opinions, beliefs, and computer models.

There is absolutely no empirical evidence that mankind has anything to do with global warming.

Funny then that the Environmental Protection Agency and many scientists completely disagree with you.

Don't make me tell you again.

And what length of time should we devote to gathering sufficient empirical evidence to convince you? If we had eons to wait, this matter wouldn't even be on the table for discussion! #-o

The global warming kooks don't have empirical evidence, because it doesn't exist.

Like Falwell, Robertson, and Swaggart, all they have is faith.

Don't ever break one of those cut twisty bulbs in your house. It costs big $$$ to clean up the toxic waste, as one lady in Maine found out the hard way:

http://www.newstarget.com/021916.html

Well if you break one, don't tell anyone.
When they go out and you throw it away, enclose it in a ziplock bag and it will keep the ground safe.
It's a joke, don't go bananas.

When they can replicate thunderstorms, rain showers, lightening strikes, and F5 Tornadoes in the laboratory, I'll get back with you on that.

What about Ice Cores, Glacier Melts, and rising sea levels?

If there's even the most remote chance that Mankind has any effect of these changes shouldn't we at least be doing something about it?

It's evident to me, as a farmer, that our environment is out of wack! I see it everyday.

Individuals who live inside airconditioned cars and homes, and only briefly deal with the weather in their daily lives wouldn't notice "observable" changes in their day to day climates, because they're not paying any attention to it.

Easter Sunday 2006, we experienced a record high of 110 degrees, in the shade here in Central Texas.

Easter Sunday 2007, it snowed for the first time in 78 YEARS!

We've received more rain in the past six months, than we received in the past two years! Busting a drought that we've been in for the past three.

Never in my life have I witnessed such extremes in weather.

But, yeah, I guess it's just a naturally occurring phenomena, which in itself can't seem to be proved.

Where have the Honey Bees gone?

Why have migratory patterns of birds changed?

What in the fuck is going on?

Oh nothing, cuz we can't repeat it in a lab.

What a bunch of BULLSHIT! ](*,)

*end rant*

I heard on the radio this am that for the month of July we have received 14 inches of rain setting a record. And this is only July 5th.

What have any of the above got to do with the false allegations that global warming is either man made or man influenced?

Where do you think that the science is coming from?

Do you think that scientists are self employed? That they're just sitting around waiting to make "false allegations" against what you consider to be reputable science?

No. Your scientists are being paid to make false allegations that global warming is neither man made or man influenced.

I'm referring here to the science that you've embraced as fact. This is what you quoted me as saying:

Is there any reason why we should continue to fight global wars, and to over throw governments for their precious crude, while killing everything in site, and everyone and anything that stands in our way to get it?

Is there any reason why we're having this argument except to further the debate of misinformation bought and paid for by the very corporations that have something to lose if we change the way that we think about our planet, our world, our environment?

Where's your fucking proof that the events that I've outlined aren't happening, and aren't taking place within this debate?

Corporations fund "think tanks," and "non-partisan" groups, which in turn fund Universities, which pay "scientists" to conduct studies that in turn helps out the Corporations, or Government entities doing the funding.

Truly reputable individuals call it "junk science" because it's biased to whatever the Corporations or Government entities want the science to say.

My point is, what do those who advocate taking steps to reduce carbon emissions, those who you claim are making "false allegations," and attempting to restore a natural balance to our planet have to gain, compared to those who have something to lose if we do?

You appear to have bought the Corporate Message hook-line and sinker. :=D:

At the end of March this year Lake Whitey, which is near my farm was 15' below normal.

As of today it's 21' ABOVE normal. The Corps of Engineers is calculating that, even with the flood gates closed, the damn is releasing fourteen million cubic feet of water PER SECOND. That's as I type this.

Henry, this is a non-answer to the question I asked of you. True scientific method empirical evidence of man's contribution to global warming would take far too long to accumulate and test against.... we don't have that luxury of time. Your insistence on needing it is a complete red-herring.

You're pissing on everybody's shoes and trying to convince them its raining.

*takes of his Mod hat*'

And allow me to add, "If my Grandmother had wheels, she'd be a rollar skate." ;)

Better that than the religion of man made warming hook-line and sinker.

That doesn't follow. If you're wrong, a lot of bad things happen. If the global warming guys are wrong, nothing as disastrous ensues.

Common sense would suggest that, even if you don't believe in global warming, you take at least some steps to plan for the worst.

But I'm sure you'll keep that ol' head of yours in the sand of denial and in the certain knowledge that other good folk are working to save you from yourself. No, please. Don't thank us.

Yes and Lake Corpus Christi which has been, since last summer, pretty well near dried up. Now it is overflowing from all the rains above us. It is flooding towns south of the Lake.

I mentioned our 14 inches because it is so rare for us to get it. It is nothing compared to what is going on north of us.

This is somewhat off topic but relates to a solution if it does work out. Also, very interesting subject.

Over in the Technology forum they have this thread:

If it does work out and can be used to fuel cars, this would be an answer to global warming.

Don't complain to me how it is inconceivable or wouldn't work or anything. I don't know shit from shinola about science!!! The thread is over in Technology and they have all the answers.

Surely given that the overwhelming view of the majority of research and scientific opinion suggests that man-made climate change is a real and imminent threat, it would be in the best interests of humanity in general to take whatever steps we can to try to stop the damage.

We should be making massive investment in alternative energy sources, building carbon neutral housing, stopping using gas-guzzling vehicles in favour of more energy efficient alternatives, reducing the amount of needless crap we all consume, reducing the pollution we generate.

If climate change is real (my opinion is that it is) then doing what we can to prevent it can only be a good thing.

If climate change is not real, then, taking the steps to reduce our consumption, pollution, carbon use and destruction of the natural environment would be a good thing to do anyway.

eg, Not destroying the rainforests, not hoovering life out of the oceans, not destroying the arctic wilderness, and reducing the amount of chemical waste pumped into the atmosphere and water system must, rationally, be better for the world and people in general than allowing these things to continue.

A Freudian slip, no doubt, sort of like the one I read about Nancy "Mommy" Reagan. She was campaigning in overwhelmingly Caucasian New Hampshire in January 1980, and she remarked to the crowd, "It's so nice to see all you white people -- I mean all this white snow," dontchaknow.

What's funny, is that I don't even think in those terms. !oops!

There should be NO disagreement of what you say. ^^^^^

Well don't be surprised if there is! ;)

"Party like its 1999"

Prove to me changing our wys and going cave man will save our earth from its natural cycle. Then I will cede that we are all that is evil and must be destroyed.
