GOOD! gay themed movies

I can watch Maurice over and over, others are

Beautiful Thing
Priscilla
Making Love
The Sum of Us
Another Country
Happy Texas - Gay Themed
Consenting Adults
The Ritz - Oldie but goodie if you know the Steam Bath scene
Prick Up Your Ears

and if you ever see a Telemovie called Dress Gray advertised it is good to watch. haven't seen it for years. I understand it is based on a true story.

I always recommend Relax... It's Just Sex (with the guy who played Claudia's music teacher in Party Of Five), Finding North (great story although not much gay sex), The Fluffer (lots of nudity especially from the gorgeous Scott Gurney), Presque Rien (Come Undone in the US) with the gorgeous Stephane Rideau and some hot sex scenes. Although I don't know if it's available on DVD another great gay film is Love!, Valour!, Compassion!.

Everyone needs to watch the film "Big Eden." Great movie! Great acting. It doesn't look cheap. It's about a guy who returns to his small home town in Seattle. He crosses paths with his old flame, who happeneds to be a widower with kids.

I also recommend:

Get Real
Summer Storm
Poster Boy

formula 17
Boys love
the king and the clown
Happy Together
Memento Mori
There is more but I can't remember the titles. ..| ..|

My top 5

1. Sommersturm (aka Summer Storm)
2. Get Real
3. Beautiful Thing
4. Latter Days
5. Rock Haven

Bonus: Outing Riley

Well, I know some pretty bad gay-themed movies, so I won't mention them.

Here are some I recommend:

Ha Buah (The Bubble) - an Israeli film. A great film.
No Regret - Korean film. One of the few gay-movies with a good ending.
The Trip - gotta love Steve Braun!
Laramie Project - sad, but good.
Trick - seen this movie countless times.
Yossi and Jagger - another Israeli film.
Lan Yu - Chinese film. Some compare it to Brokeback Mountain.
Wedding Wars - comic look at gay marriage.
Km. 0 - Spanish film. Cool and funny movie.
Mysterious Skin - a truly wonderful film with kind of dark subject matter.

That's a few of the good ones, or at least in my opinion.

You'll be lucky if you can find them on Veoh (I downloaded Summerstorm, Beautiful Thing, and A Shock to the System (yet to watch), but doubt you can find them now because they are cracking down on the deletion on movies.

Gay Themed Blog does downloads through hosts such as ********** (a pain since the movies have to be split into several parts of about 200mb a piece) and Megaupload.

this is an alternative (or is it a new GTB, I don't know, but it has movies as well)

As for my favorites...
Summerstorm
Beautiful Thing
The Trip
Yossi and Jagger (but way too short :( )
Latter Days
Eating Out 1 (The sequel sucked big time, but the first one was charming)
Mysterious Skin
Loving Annabelle (I love, love, love this movie! I don't know why, but lesbians are hot)

I always loved "The boys in the band".Not yet out on dvd,but there are some on vhs on amazon...|

I just saw Long Term Relationship and have to say it was pretty good despite having a low budget look to it.

They air it on LOGO every once in a blue moon.

It was Montana, as I recall, not that it makes that much of a difference.

I liked Torch Song Trilogy. But my all time favorite is Brokeback Mountain.

A french movie called " Just a question of love"
One of the guy is really nice looking but the chemistry between the two of them were unbelievable and the one that plays the mother was even better that lady can act with just her expression. She was that good. If you don't mind reading subtitles then rent it. and another one of my favorite is "Get Real" a brithish movie. It was a really cute movie.

I just saw that last night. It wasn't that bad. The acting wasn't top notch but the story was interesting. It just want to show you that sex isn't everything in a relationship. I laughed out loud at couple scenes, at least this one I didn't touch the fast forward button at all.

Many great movies mentioned thus far...one of my favs "All Over The Guy"

Two that haven't been mentioned that I like a lot:
The Killing of Sister George (I've read that Bette Davis wanted the Title role)
Proteus

Just a question of love was excellent. I didnt expect much from it when I first saw it because there seemed to be more bad gay themed movies than good. However this one turned out to be more than I expected...|
