Yellow House was my introduction to Grizzly Bear back in 2006.

Great avatar. When is BoC coming out with new material?

Earlier today, Grizzly Bear informed us they have been writing songs for a new album and will start recording it by the end of this month in Texas. That’s all information for now, but that’s all I need to get excited already! Let’s pray it will live up to the high standards they have set with Veckatimest, although I have all faith in them. Will keep you posted, obviously.

Grizzly Bear's Chris Taylor set to release solo album in September

Dreams Come True' is out on September 13

Grizzly Bear bassist Chris Taylor is set to release his debut solo album on September 13.

Currently operating under the name CANT, Taylor, who released his first solo single 'Ghosts' in 2009, will put out the ten track album on his own Terrible Records label imprint.

Details about the album are scarce, but Twin Shadow's George Lewis Jnr is known to have contributed to the album. Taylor produced Twin Shadow's debut album 'Forget' last year.

Grizzly Bear will be beginning the recording of their fourth studio album in the next few weeks. They have spent the last few months working on fresh material for the follow up to 2009's 'Veckatimest'.

The tracklisting for 'Dreams Come True' is as follows:

'Too Late, Too Far'
'Believe'
'The Edge'
'BANG'
'(Brokencollar)'
'She's Found A Way Out'
'Answer'
'Dreams Come True'
'Rises Silent'
'Bericht'

I was worried Grizzly Bear might be hibernating indefinitely with Daniels solo stuff and all, so I'm sort of glad there's gonna be new music, but I don't about Daniel singing again. I loved Southern Point and While You Wait For The Others. This used to be Ed's band... I'd rather have more songs with gay lyrics, rather than just another all male band singing about girls or whatever.

Last month, Brooklyn indie outfit Grizzly Bear announced their upcoming fourth album’s release date as September 18, but the group neglected to provide even an album title or showcase any cover art. Well, the quartet took care of those things today on their official website, revealing Shields as the official title alongside poker-aesthetic cover art.

The album follows the group’s heralded ’09 effort Veckatimest, which was produced by member Chris Taylor. "There's not a lot of songs," singer/multi-instrumentalist Ed Droste told Pitchfork of the 10-track LP, "but they go a lot of places."

The group recorded the album over the last year in New York and Cape Cod after studio sessions in Marfa, Texas, failed to provide anything to their liking.

"We were like, 'We're ready to do this!'" explained Droste, about the aborted Texas sessions. "Then, we got there and recorded 12 songs and were like, 'This isn't quite there.'"

Grizzly Bear reconvened in New York to focus on collaboratively writing songs together as a band. "As we get older, more confident, and more mature," said Droste, "we're becoming more comfortable with stepping on each other's toes."

As always, fans should expect something completely new from the group.

“Everyone keeps getting older and their tastes are constantly evolving, and it's always exciting to see where people are. The good news is we're not doing Veckatimest Part II,” Droste revealed.
