DAMN THAT ROB ZOMBIE!!! my hand is like TWITCHING...that's how bad i wanna bitchslap him. seriously, his take on the original was one of the worst movies EVER!!! can't think of ONE redeeming thing to say about it. only positive things i hear from anyone are str8 boys talking about how hot Danielle Harris got...and all the various titties flying every which way.

I'm always interested in someone else's interpretation of something done before.

Most of the time, it's complete shit -- but in this case, I think Zombie brought his own flavor while adding on to the original. The T&A is very much a part of what he does but it is interesting to see another version of it.

To see Sherri Zombie in that role kind of made me excited about acting.

I don't think so....the thing that made the original so creepy was actually the music and the lack of out and out gore. The anticipation of what was going to happen made it seem much gorier in your head than what was presented on the screen. Which is what scared me the most as a kid. Plus regardless of what Jamie Lee Curtis has done since....she will always be the original scream queen. Well actually her mom, Janet Leigh is the original scream queen from the movie that really started the knife wielding slasher flicks "Psycho".

IMO the first re-make was great and this looks even better! And i love that it's not gonna be featured in the hospital. Plus, mabey we finally get a Halloween 3 feautering Michael.

what made the remake suck is that RZ spent too much time humanizing Michael. the thing that really made him "scary" is not really knowing why he does what he does. RZ made him into more of a victim. not only was he NOT scary, but you actually end feeling almost sorry for him. didn't help that the actual victims in the movie were annoying as hell. i think Laurie was the worst of them. really wouldn't have minded if she bit it.

These are actually the reasons why I liked it....

It was interesting to see someone do a backstory on the character, instead of just "Here's a monster who can't die....Go with it!" As an adult, those types of stories aren't interesting to me (not putting the original down at all, btw). To me, something that is actually possible is scarier/more interesting to watch than that.

& yea, I was rooting for him.

just felt like time wasted to me. i remember repeatedly checking the time display, wondering when exactly the movie would get good...it never did. probably the only one in the series i've only watched once, with no desire for another viewing.
