^ A brief history for those who don't know.

Canada was a British colony until Confederation on July 1, 1867 when it became the self-governing Dominion of Canada. (By the way, about 40,000 British troops fought for the Union army.) July 1 became Dominion Day. 'Dominion of' was dropped from the Dominion of Canada in the early 60s, but Dominion Day stuck around until 1982 when we got our own Constitution (we had been using the British Constitution) and Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Who's your daddy, Montreal?!

The USA could learn a lot from the Canadian education system.

^ I used to watch Red Green all the time, but the earlier seasons. I've never heard of Ranger Gord (later seasons), nor have I seen any of his cartoons. I watched this one and the first thing I noticed was that Patrick McKenna (Harold) and Red Green (Red Green) didn't provide the voices for their characters. I Googled it and discovered that Ranger Gord (Peter Keleghan) provided all the voices.

This year, looking at the dumpster fires in other countries, I feel so fucking lucky to be a Canadian.

Sorry. Not Sorry.
