I'll give you a little education - most of us take off the following Friday anyway. In reality, most of us get a 4 day weekend. My company actually gives us a paid holiday for the Thursday and Friday.
As an immigrant to Canada, it would be hard for me to express how thankful I am for my adopted country. Like many other countries, I own a house, property, more than one car, have a wonderful dog, a successful career and the man I married earlier this summer. But one of the things I will be giving thanks for this holiday is the amazing and magical nature of this website. I have friends all over the world now, gay friends and otherwise, that I would otherwise never have met. I do not believe that this is "just the internet"; I have true friends here, some that I have met in person and many more that I would like to. England, Australia, Italy, Poland, Mexico, Spain, France, Belgium, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Scotland, Ireland, Wales... in my heart I have been to all of these places, though I have only stepped foot in four of them. And to all of you who have been kind, funny, thoughtful and caring to me I promise you that you will be remembered when I sit down to give thanks before dinner tomorrow.
