HBO's Game of Thrones. ( No Book Spoilers Allowed -- Go to Hell.)

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

but I hope the show doesn't move too fast and catch up with the last book that's out.

10 epis is, like, way too short, but look on the bright side: we still have True Blood. ::groan::

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

All the houses, and fricking commoners, were losing family left and right, why do you give SELFISH 'Cat' a pass for doing something monumentally stupid?
I'm not giving her a pass, but I understand her motivations on why she did it, you have all the right in the world to hate Catelyn with a passion, but I understand why she did what she did.

PSA: Add spoiler tags to any post that reveals or speculates about content that hasn't been shown on tv yet!

Everybody should be able to discuss the latest episode here, so people who still have not seen all currently aired episodes should be careful when entering the thread.

But many show viewers don't know the books, so don't spoil future episodes for them.

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

In addition to True Blood, there is also Falling Skies for those who may need their fix before GOT comes back.

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

I am currently reading A Clash of Kings and after seeing episode 8 of S3 I hate myself for either not reading quick enough or for not just reading the books after the show ends because the show prepares you for things you haven't read yet lol.

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

Just caught the finale.

I love Arya; she's a dork's version of Harper Lee's Scout, who gets to stab the bad people. Stab away, Arya, stab away.

I was anticipating fifteen or so minutes of
Joffrey choking to death.
Too much climax for one season? At least there's something to look forward to.

I sure hope season 4 recounts the events of BOTH books 4 and 5 simultaneously, otherwise we can expect a few yawns.

And though I'm leary of seeming to pass early judgement a second time on casting choices, I'll at least say I hate Daario's Harlequin Romance look. Fabio-yuck. But pictures of Ed Skrein, his actor, are appealing.

Season 4 will cover the second half of Storm of Swords, but I wouldn't be shocked if it delved into the early parts of Feast of Crows and Dance with Dragons that chronologically take place at the same time.

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

Such an amazing season. I loved it. Loved it all. Really happy with Daenerys' development as a character. She's such a powerhouse.

Love love love Arya. She's wonderful and the developments with Bran are great also.

"In addition to True Blood..."

Give me a break cos I haven't had one since 2002. That shit is still on?

Is Falling Skies really all that? I could't get into it initially.

^that explains it.

True Blood was cancelled a couple years ago, I am just really behind the times.....

Falling Skies is proving to be a little more interesting this season.

Beats watching some boring 'reality' show.

Explains what? :)

Seriously, I stopped watching it some time last season. Just too much nonsense.

I suppose I can start watching Breaking Bad. I always meant to do that.

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones is Mariah Carey's favorite TV show. I guess now I should start watching it

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

I'm pretty late to this, so sorry for the bump.

I just finished watching season 3, but season 3 ep 9. What the FUCK. All I can say.

I think everyone who hadn't read the books said WTF during Season 3 Episode 9. I knew what was gonna happen, and even then I jumped out of seat when it all unraveled. '

Such an amazing series. Cannot wait for the next season.

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

Yeah, it was sad and amazing at the same time.

It's risky to kill off people who the audience are attached to, but doing so invokes so much emotion even though it's just a TV show. I don't think I've ever felt what I felt just from watching a show. It's sad, but I'm glad it happened!

actually watched the last half of that episode in complete shock

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

YES! ABSOLUTELY!!!!

Season 3 ends about 2/3rds through A Storm of Swords. The other "RW" [Royal Wedding] is the actual climax of book 3. Shockingly, the Red Wedding is NOT the climax of A Storm of Swords.

Dave & Dan even begged HBO to make this past season a 12-13 episode one to cover the entire book but they said no.

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

I wonder if they have any tooth brush and tooth paste in that period of history :

Actually, there's enough left to fill an entire ten episode season. Beside the other wedding, there's the Dorne delegation, the Tyrion stuff and the two major battles at the Wall. It's definitely a full season's worth of material, 2-3 eps could never have covered it. Book 3 is the densest in the series, plot wise.

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

I've been playing catchup on this series, recently finished season 1. So I suppose each season has just one isolated gay scene where characters just disappear from the story afterward, like in season 1? That's HBO for us. . .

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

^ No, Renly and Loras play important roles in the second season.
