Heroes Season 3: Villians [merged]

I was glad to see someone finally die! I actually liked the "Elle" character from the beginning, all the way to the end, but it seemed a waste to kill her. I would like to see a major plot twist and have a major character go. Mix it up a little. How many times has Sylar "died" now? 2 or 3?

Now I'm not saying that killing off a character will make the show better, but it seems they are just going in circles. They subtitled this season as "Villains" so I was expecting a large group of bad guys to come in and clean house. What did we get? Sylar killing without remorse...again. Nathan is the naughty politician...again. And a couple of side-characters who are used when they need a henchman. Mr. Patrelli could be interesting, but so far, I am unimpressed with his character. I am glad they mixed things up with Peter and took his powers away, but I guarantee it's just a matter of time till he gets them back.

All that being said, I will keep watching and do my part to help keep the show on the air and give them time to straighten things out.

I'm hoping Fugitives isn't as formulaic as the last three volumes. Shake things up a little bit...no more "Hiro/Peter/future-painter goes to/paints the future and sees a horrible tragedy" plot lines followed by an entire season of them trying to stop it from happening.

For all of the flaws this season, I have to say that they ended Villains very well. They really cleaned house. A lot of unnecessary characters died tonight. It will be nice to start fresh.

- Is Sylar really dead? We know that all you have to do is pull out the piece of glass and he'll heal himself. Hopefully the fire destroys his body. It's time for the Sylar storyline to end. It was good during the first season but it has become very tedious. Let him die. Please. The show desperately needs it.

- So now we know the origins of red lightning Ando. It's a cool power.

- They really redeemed Hiro in the last few weeks. He's not embarrassing to watch anymore.

- I hope we see more of Daphne. I really grew to like her character.

- I was sad to see Meredith die. She can go down as another wasted character who had a lot of potential.

- I think they wasted Ali Larter this season. Niki died off-screen and was hardly even mentioned. Tracy was underused. Hopefully Tracy will show up more in Fugitives. We can probably expect to see Barbara at some point, too.

- Nathan had a picture of Micah in the car...maybe he'll be coming back.

- Really? A black President who looks strikingly similar to Obama? I can't believe they actually went there...

- I was hoping Mohinder would die, too. He's pretty much useless. Maybe now that he has real powers they'll do something constructive with him.

I'm really excited about Fugitives. If they do it right, it's going to be a great plot for volume 4. I hope they can pull it off...which would entail not bringing back any surprise former characters. No Lindermans. No Sylars. No Arthur Petrellis. No Adam Munroes. Let them be dead. It's time to completely revamp the show and it looks like they're doing that with the next volume. I'd hate to see them ruin it by falling into old habits.

Maybe its just me.....but i was/am asking myself is arthur dead he absorbed peters powers and you dont see him on the floor when nathan is talking to the soldier

i still despise hiros character

i was hoping mohinder would die too....

and fugitives look like it has potential....but this volume blew

I guess time will tell. I really hope the Sylar angle is done. It's played out.

I hated to see Meridith die, she was cool.

I think all the Patrelli's need to be voted off the island! I am tired of their back and forth bantering!

I hope Ali Larter's character is used more. She has a "cool" (sorry, I had to) ability.

Mohinder...done. Move on. He's been useless since the end of season one.

I believe they left this open for a decent go-round this time. Lets hope for the best.

So Worf is the President?

We will know if Sylar is truly gone if Star Trek becomes a big hit.

And I liked Sulu fighting Hiro. Cute.

Is it just me, or is a requirement to be on the show, is to be connected to Star Trek?

Regardless, if you are enjoying the show as it is then that's cool. But others, and particularly fans of the show, are entitled to their complaints.
Sorry to have gone off. Like I said, I have no problem with legitimate critique; it's just that I was getting annoyed with all of the sillier ones (of the "'How did he get in the room?' when everyone else saw him enter the room" variety). Questioning why Arthur showed up when he did was fine; some of the other complaints were just not paying attention.

Although some characters were consistently annoying (Nathan going from hardcore religious nut to taking over Arthur's mantle, Mohinder seems to be operating with a variable ethics setting, and Peter needs to grow a spine), it was fun to watch other characters grow and develop (Matt & Daphne's romance, Ando growing into a full partner, and Hiro acting as a 10-yr old, and then those tender moments with Mom, Pop, and himself). It was interesting to see Claire, her dad, and Meredith grow closer, and then to see what happened when Angela was thrown into the mix. And I agree that Ali Larter was definitely not used as much as she could have been, but I think that she almost redeemed herself tonight. I'm going to miss Elle, mainly because I think she was on the path to actual redemption, even as I felt Sylar wasn't (I knew his turning evil again was inevitable, even though I was holding out hope).

Yeah, I can see how Hiro can be an irritating character; however, if you go in expecting him to be comedy relief, he can be easy to take and even welcome, especially with all of the hard-core angst going around. Of course, it doesn't help that I'm a serious Monkey King fan (most powerful character is also the silliest).

Tonight's episode was definitely the pay-off. Sylar was at his creepiest, and it was great to see him play the villain, setting up traps showing just how much of a bad-ass he can be. Claire and her father were impressive, especially Claire's new spine and her father's mix of warmth and cold (in effect, being able to use his analytical side to save someone he loved, and then turning it off when he had to). Sylar was put on ice, hopefully for quite a while.

Angela was shown to be the coward we knew she was, and, because no one will trust her now, I think we've had enough with precognition for now (she was the last precog, right?). With Peter's reboot and Hiro's power loss, I think we've seen the end of time-travel for now (I know Daphne can do it, but I don't see her doing often). How they solve the next crisis is going to be interesting, especially depending on the webisodes.February should be interesting...

Ok i really hope that "Fugitives" is a whoooolllle lot better...and according to this weeks Entertainment Weekly it will be. At least that's what the returning, Brian Fuller, promises. He said he's gonna try and get it back on track with the first season and focus it more...which is exactly what it needs..oh yeah and it also needs to kill off Mohinder, Claire and Peter please.....they are all annoying and horrible actors!

I never entered this thread since I've been following this show on IMDB. A lot of people over there hate Claire and Peter too. I don't know why everyone hates them so much. My favorite characters are Peter, Nathan and Claire. With out Peter and Claire the show would be dead. All the good stories revolve around them. I think Milo does good acting but Hayden's acting can get a little cheesy sometimes.

Matt is boring. I started to hate Mohinder this season. I liked Nikki a lot but this season Traci was useless. There's Hiro/Ando but their time traveling adventures were starting to get old. I'm glad that's gone. Who else is there?

I used to like Sylar a lot but it was just too annoying how poorly they wrote the character. Just switching back and forth from good and evil for no reason when he already learned to steal powers without the head thing and already has the power from the girl Angela fed him and doesn't need to learn the lying thing. He already had Elle's powers and didn't need to kill her. He pretty much just flipped because Noah told him something and he just automatically believes it. I liked that he was going to be good since it would've been something new. We know he didn't die for good since he's a fan favorite and now he's just going to be the villain for every season who magically survives the next season. Now that they swiched him back, it's better to just leave him dead even though he was one of my favorites in the past. They should've just kept him good and had Arthur be this seasons ultimate villain.

I don't think Meredith died for good. Shouldn't she be able to survive fire and not be hurt from it? Ted survived his explosion in Claire's house. I don't know how Mohinder survived the other guys fire though. I hated that the hot marine guy died so quick. He should've been Nathan's body guard....or fuckbuddy. I liked that they switched it so Ando's the hero now and Hiro's the sidekick following him around for a while.

I actually liked this season other than some really annoying mistakes. 10 times better than season 2. I thought it was so stupid that Hiro's dad didn't just rip up the formula if he knew it was that dangerous. Instead he just wants it locked up in a safe forever with no use where other people could find it. This season wouldn't have happened though. To enjoy the show you just have to go with it no matter how annoying some parts of it is.

I like where volume 4 is going.

I hope Nathan has a terrible, horrible, slow and painful death. He's beyond annoying and irritating. He disgusts me and just pisses me off!

Hiro...another beyond annoying character. I'd beat the shit outta him...ugh! He's so fucking pathetic.

Peter...kill him! PLEASE! Enough with the Petrellis's whining storylines. Just kill 'em all for good!

I hope Meredith's still alive! She had great potential and she was a really likeable, warm and empathetic character.

Meredith should still be alive. And so should her dumb brother. Remember when Mohinder warned him that the chemicals were flammable and combustible he said it couldnt harm him.

I wish Elle had survived.

Claire blows.

Nathan is outta of his damn mind.

Sylar is so damn tired. They really needa give his bullshit up. He's just gonna keep killing people and taking everyone's powers for the rest of the show's run?

It was a somewhat decent end for a pretty craptastic season.

That they are the center of attention when you have so much other interesting stuff going on is why they are so disliked. I'm hoping that all we'll see of Nathan is his booting up the next chapter, and that Peter and Claire will disappear for a while. However, their powers would be perfect for military use (Peter being the ultimate weapon in a super-powered competition and Claire's regeneration perfect for soldiers), and Nathan is going to want to keep up with things, so there goes that dream.

It should be interesting to see if the webisodes add anything interesting to the mix...

The question of Meredith surviving has nothing to do with the flames she created; heck, Noah/H.R.G./Claire's Father explains that Claire can't stay with Meredith because the building will come down and crush them.

So, the question becomes whether or not Meredith can survive all that concrete, building plaster, etc, that's going to fall on her when the building collapses. Don't forget, she was on Level 5, which we assume is the lowest area of the building, so it will be hard to get out of something like that.

The season was good, a few moments that weren't quite up to par, but I don't see the major reason for complaining.

SPOILER: There's photos of Sylar kicking around from the next chapter, so it would appear that his storyline is not finished.

Volume Four does have promise, and as long as they keep Noah around, I'll keep watching.

I've seen those pictures you're referring to. Are we positive he's not just playing a different character? A twin perhaps? The door has been opened for family members to start showing up.

It's wishful thinking, I know...

OMG, WORF as president!

I wonder what happend to the catalyst. Is it gone forever? or at least until some time traveller gets it from the past? I wonder if Arthur is still alive. Nathan should know that the bullet is the only thing keeping him from regenerating. Maybe Nathan is keeping Arthur in a closet somewhere so he can be in charge and not under the shadow of his father.

I wonder what Tracy is going to do with the formula and being a "fugitive". She's so cunning and evil, I love her!

I hope they bring Micah back. He has such a cool power, not just "talking" to computers, but it seems he also has senses with respect to other people. It would definitely help out a lot as a "fugitive". It would be great if they brought back his cousin, the mimic girl, too.

I really hope Gabriel isn't dead. I think his character is still evolving. He's not just some thug lusting for any and all powers that are out there. He killed Elle because she manipulated him, and he killed the human lie detector girl because he needed her power. The others in the office were just collateral damage. Yes, he turned evil again, but he still has some regret about being a monster and he's angry about what was done to him. That's the reason for the whole situation in Level 5. He wanted revenge. He said some interesting things to Claire about Noah.

I hope Meredith lives, too. Hopefully she can make her fire burn hot enough to disintegrate anything that might fall on her. She does have that adrenaline high. OMG, I really wish she can be like Johnny Storm or Firestar and just fly out of there.

I hope Hiro never regains his powers, but Ando might be able to spark it up again. Even though Arthur took them away, it's still in his genes so it should just be dormant. Also, his mom might have restored them without him knowing it.

Did you see the African precog? Did Daphne pick him up on the way back to the present? I hope they develop her and Matt. They're kinda cute together, even though he's just a big oaf.

^ I think Arthur is dead for good.

Given what we know about abilities, heroes are a lot like zombies, destroy the brain and they aren't coming back.

*Proof: Victoria Pratt seems to know/believe that a shotgun blast to Adam Monroe's head will kill him and prevent him from regenerating.

Angela knows a head shot will kill Arthur, the Haitian was more or less insurance to make sure he didn't see it coming and couldn't stop it.

I think arthur is dead too...

I honestly hope vol 4 will be better...
coz this volume was a lil bit annying

I cant stand mohinder anymore !!

Is it that you have to destroy the brain, or that having some object in the brain prevents regeneration? Like when Claire died from the branch in her head and Peter died with the piece of glass in his head, but then they regenerated when the objects were removed. It would have taken a lot of effort to clean out all the buckshot that might have been in Adam's brain.

Having the Hattian present was supposed to make sure that Arthur died by knocking out the healing factor. However, with Arthur weakening the Hattian and perhaps Gabriel as well, Arthur may have lived. The future Peter died when the Hattian was present and future Claire shot him in the head, presumably, of course, because for some reason they dragged him back to their lair and put him on a table next to present Peter. Or was he in a body bag? I don't remember.

Kill Mohinder please!!! So annoying. "I covet your powers" Come on...

I can't believe they killed Arthur. I thought he was the best villian that the show has ever had.
