Hollister & Abercrombie models post racist pics from South Korea opening

Again, Abercrombie & Fitch (a clothing brand popular with gay men since the 1990s) shows it's true colors of racism against Asians.

They've gotten heat for only showcasing hunky, white athletic men in their advertising and male models they hire. They made men's t-shirts that said "Two Wongs make it White" (as in a laundromat) and "Get your Buddha on the floor". They were later pulled after Asian-American groups complained.

Abercombie just opened its first Hollister stores in South Korea. They flew in a bunch of white male models wearing nothing but surfer shorts and sandals for the grand opening.

The white male models thought it would be funny to show the middle finger while they were posing with Korean customers. Another white Hollister model decided it would be funny to squint and make his eyes look squinty, to mock Asian men. He posted the photo on instagram, and exclaimed with a false, mocking Asian accent, "Hahahaha they ruhhvvvv ittt!"

This is very upsetting. We Asian gay men need to stand up and stop letting these White guys mock and humiliate us.

i agree 100 percent with you on this. these people think that they're larger than life when they aren't shit. they can't succeed anywhere in life so they rely on shit they have no control in order to get by in life.

BUT i do think it's strange for you out of all people to cry racism but YET you constantly are crying about not getting any love from punk ass bitches like these. you also admitted that you're not interested in messing with any non white men either. i don't see why you would be getting bent out of shape for not getting any love for some guys that don't like you for being indian. that alone should make you hate them as much as they hate you.

but yeah, i think you need to look at yourself and realize that the reason why these guys think they can high slide on guys like you is because you put yourself down for who you are and boost them up for who they are when these guys aren't shit. these guys are basically making a living off of their looks. :lol: in other words, they really have NOTHING going for them which is why they pride themselves off of shit they have no control over. they just happen to be lucky. if they d you're busy idolizing these guys for being white and shitting on yourself and others for being asian. basically, you and them are both ignorant and some sad motherfuckers.

do you really need photos to know exactly what these guys did?

the fact that these models think that they could do that is ridiculous and even worst off, these guys wouldn't be where they're at if these people supporting that company to begin with. they're basically dissing their employers. hopefully, they boycott the store and run their ass out of business where these models have one less gig to go to and get reminded that they aren't shit if nobody hires them.

i don't even see why people even fuck with these wack ass clothing companies anyway. i think a model should be the last person making fun of someone for who they are though. how about they try to get a REAL job that shows their abilities instead of using their bodies and faces that they have NO control of? these people think that they're special. :rotflmao: motherfuckers are insulting themselves.
 
A&F is a dying brand. I read they are closing a lot of stores. They have come and gone.
 
If I had felt insulted or ...ahm...racisticated...every time some american oder asian or australian orwhatsofuckingever put´s on leather shorts and tries to fake german language by imitating Hitlers speaking....puh I would be beating up people constantly.

you obviously don't know what it feels like to be discriminated against or to experience racism or any serious form of prejudice which is why you obviously don't see the point of this thread. you're the one that needs to grow up. please don't speak on things you haven't experience or can't relate to. don't embarrass yourself.

You have no right to tell him that imitating Germans is any worse than imitating Asians. Why should we care that you're offended when you don't care about anyone else?

Turns out that the employees were fired, rightfully so. They should never fuck with Koreans, they don't sit back and let things like this just roll over, they can get pretty crazy when people diss their country/people. Just saw Hollister's pathetic attempt at an apology, on their Facebook page. How about they man up and make a formal apology.

I laughed at the comments on that blog about how racists Americans are. And then someone posted a link about racism in South Korea against non Koreans. If you are a Korean dating a foreigner, the attitudes are like Alabama in 1960s. A&F and similar fashion giants are operated by marketing gurus. They know what type of advertising sells. If it means sending pretty, shirtless white boys to make Asian women happy, they will do that. It's all about demand. If Asians feel like it's racist to use white models, they should send a message by boycotting the stores. And then by next season you will see shirtless Asian boys greeting you in underwear.
