Taylor Kitsch is John Carter in the Disney film set for release 3/9/12. Here's the first trailer.

Wow, what a spectacularly bland trailer. Nothing I haven't seen before, nothing I haven't heard before. Wow, are all trailers made by the same guy these days?

Maybe it's just me, but when I watch this trailer, I don't look for profound meaning. I just look at Taylor's incredible beauty, and how much skin is exposed. I'm baffled by people who come to JUB for the secret of the meaning of life.

Wow. I am unimpressed by a movie trailer. That means I come to this forum seeking the meaning of life. Thank you for your wisdom and clarity.

To add to my original post, I saw NOTHING in that trailer that I have not seen before; including the guy playing "John Carter". He may be fit and attractive, but that doesn't change the fact that (for me at least) that trailer was difficult to watch. There are pictures all over the internet likely, if you just want to see the guy.

Also, fuck you, I am entitled to my opinion :sex:

Taylor Kitsch half naked for a large part of a movie? Works for me! I hadn't seen this so thanks for the post.

While you are indeed entitled to your own opinion, you are not entitled to come in and just trash someone's thread. Nor does the O/P's use of a bit of tongue in cheek satire deserve a fuck you in response. For those of us who are ERB fans, this film is going to be a treat and having read the books as a kid it is nice to see it come to the screen. Thanks for posting it, Jared. ..|

I didn't trash the thread, I trashed the trailer. Unless the O/P had something to do with the trailer, it isn't a stab at him.

It's funny that the source material is based on some pretty sleazy male fantasies (in alot of the art it has a gigantic guys with Shwarnanegger style muscles, wielding a sword while a near naked lady lies grovelling at his feet) and now it looks like the man is being sexually exploited.

Not complaining though, Taylor is ridiculously hot. Also, it's from the guy who directed Wall E.

Well i've never heard of it, but the trailer looks good, i'll wait and see what kind of reviews it gets, cheers for posting it JaredPad.

The books have been around for 100 years. They were written by ERB. Who also wrote the Tarzan books.

Their importance and influence in science fiction and fantasy literature cannot be overstated.

I did not know thank you the info. I think I going to read the book before watch the movie to see which is better.

I hadn't seen the trailer till recently, but what a stud!

I've always found Taylor attractive, but seeing him all manly and marvelous in this trailer, I've never been more attracted to him.

I can't wait to see it.

I suppose it would be to much to hope for for some full frontal screen time in a Disney film huh? Yeah, I thought so.

John Carter (What was Disney thinking?)

...2hrs-10min.....|..|(Fair)...

I don't know if I should be Mad or Sad....LOL....."John Carter" COULD have been an Epic Masterpiece instead it is an Epic-Mess...

Before the flick played things started out bad when we viewed "The Avengers" trailer. We're seeing clips of all the Action-Heros and noticed Hulk has been replaced with an imposter...Where is Ed Norton? I'm familiar with Mark Ruffalo but Hulk belongs to Edward...How could Marvel Studios slap Ed in the face like that? If Mark doesnt deliver I'm gonna rip him to shreds....

Back to "John Carter".....When I heard the line "You are Jedek, King of Helium, and we are going to defeat the Red people of the Red Ballons".....LOL....I knew then I wasted my Damn money....

The movie was a mixture of corn-ball-dialogue courtesy of the screenwriter, Very attractive Actors and great special effects...The action scenes and special effects don't save "John Carter"...The Director was all over the place and lost his way....I havent read the book but Disney should have trusted the film to someone else...The films budgest was well over $200-Million and they should have hired a Masterful Director that could handle such a task......

Sexy Taylor Kitsch plays John Carter and followed the script. Lynn Collins plays the leading lady and her Beauty is something to behold....When "People Magazine" reveals it's "50 most Beautiful people" Lynn Collins should be #1...The entire cast is fine and they delivered..Everything else fell flat....

If you're a Sci-Fi Geek like me you're probably making plans to see "John Carter"....You won't be able to say you wasnt warned..........

Re: John Carter (What was Disney thinking?)

Disney sucks at Sci-fi? This movie reeks of shit and I can tell that just from the previews. I don't know WTH they were thinking when they allowed this garbage. They deserve the profit-loss from it then.

It's sad when HBO can turn Game of Thrones: a 10-hour production with a $50mil budget; into a billion-plus in revenue.

Re: John Carter (What was Disney thinking?)

Game of Thrones has become a hit with the Critics but I havent heard anyone talking about it online & offline...I know there's a thread for it but since I havent given the show a chance I never bothered to read the thread...

It looks dark and boring....The clips havent drawn me to watch it...Any Man-Ass shots?

Re: John Carter (What was Disney thinking?)

not just man ass but a guy gives another guy head ;D

I assure you alot of people are talking about it offline and online. It seems odd that you said you deliberately avoid threads about Game of Thrones and then say that you haven't seen or heard anyone talking about Game of Thrones.

As for Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Edward Norton didn't want to come back because he had trouble with Marvel while he was filming "The Incredible Hulk". It's not Ruffalo's fault. Edward wasn't the first to play the Hulk and he's not the last, just like RDJ won't be the last to play Iron Man and whoever is playing Macbeth now won't be the last to play Macbeth.

That's all I need to know about this movie. I'm going to see them on the big screen.

Re: John Carter (What was Disney thinking?)

I loved John Carter. The story is a bit of a mess but Taylor Kitsch looks awesome, it's fun to watch, and for once a movie that long is more interesting then most because it holds your attention. :)
