The moderators may decide this should go in Fun & Games, but for now...

A lot of us here can't stand president Bush. It's a sentiment that crosses party lines. It's also a sentiment that spills into too many threads. As a public service, I'm opening this one, to give a place to dump (or take a dump) on the "lesser Bush", or as a certain southern politician put it, the "lesser of two weevils".

The rules are simple:
1. Keep it brief.
2. One topic per post!!
3. Comment on a prior post if you like, but preferably state one specific reason why you can't stand the current American president.

BTW -- "foreigners", feel free!

I'll start:

I can't stand the man because he totally lacks comprehension of what religious freedom means -- or he wouldn't have been pushing that inane definition of marriage amendment!

I dislike him because he used an attack on this country to pursue an unrelated middle east policy which the country would never have supported lacking the attack.

The fact that the policy he choose to pursue is a complete and total failure doesn't help either.:(

Bush embraced and coddled far rightwing neocon, war hawk, fanatic extremists to secure a voter base and his entire administration has been all about them getting their just paybacks. This is the same mentality that flew two airplanes into the WTC. Fanaticism.

Even his father had more sense.

Alfie, ONE reason per post, please!

As for the word "hate"... I hope you get the literary reference there.

Another one from me: he's good at rhetoric occasionally "at ground zero, for example), but has no vision to go with the rhetoric. Clinton had vision, Reagan had vision, Bush Sr. had a vision of vision... Bush has..........

a Texas ranch?

He spends entirely too much of my money. Veto one spending bill. Anyone at all would be nice!

I don't mind threads like this in CE&P. There's no reason why we can't have a few threads in which we can vent but not have to provide a cite for.

Of course you all know we'll see another Kennedy thread in the near future.

I see it in my crystal ball!

[/I]However, Sir, considering that you support the so-called "freedom" to shoot newborn babies in the brain with AK-47's and I do not, let's just call us "even."

Alfie, dear, you need to have a very clear explanation for this comment. Please provide a cite for your accusation. If you cannot or do not, it will be considered out-of-line and removed. You have 24 hours.

I think that, pure and simple, he represents greed, which Americans don't like to acknowledge as one of our national traits.

I don't hate him,or think he is evil....but he is completely out of his element and unfit for the serious responsibility of managing the national and international affairs of this grweat nation. He is prone to cronyism, incompetence,an inability to adapt to unintended consequences, unprepared for true leadership. He is a piss-poor president.

You've been doing lots of "springcleaning," from what I can tell, springs, dear. That may help you meet your quota of "tickets," but it's placed a visible, vocal, and demonstrated damper on le conversation throughout JUB -- no wonder this place resembles Walter Mondale's 1984 election night victory celebration...

As to the comment, said in jest, mind you (also known on the East Coast as humor),l Kay favors unrestricted propagation of firearms; as I recall, Kay being a so-called "libertarian," that means unfettered, unlimited access to all manner of guns and ammo -- and without licensing or restriction by le State. As to their lethality -- accidental or otherwise, I defer to our fine junior US Senator from New York, Senator Clinton. Clinton, you may know, doesn't want bits of baby brain splattering her gingham dress any more than you do -- costs money to get that shit out.

Oh, you wanted a cite. Here:

Clearly Senator Clinton, like me and all good Americans, don't want formative baby brains blown out by careless-if-well-intentioned gun owners. Now, if echoing the concerned and caring words of my senator is a crime here at JUB, I stand guilty. However, I cannot sit idly by while some people seek to allow others to blow out baby brains -- I won't have it! Of course, you'd know more about that than I, what with Columbine being in your neck of the woods, and not mine.

Alfie, I think that post insults the moderatrors' intelligence. There was no indication you meant that in jest, as the tone of this post demonstrates.
As for any cite from your pro-crime senator... well, that says it all.

I think at this point that you owe an apology to at least two people in this thread -- and if ytou can't figure out who, then (to go back on topic), you ought to be working for Bush; you see

I can't stand our president because when he says something totally inane, he has people to cover for him who stay about as on topic as Alfie's most recent post was!

I hate him because he has managed to burn up all the international good will for America that resulted from the 9.11 attacks. That takes real skill!
