I have trouble letting people get close to me. Getting me to fall would take a concerted effort on the other guy's part, and very few would consider it to be worth it.

thats not how it works. when you fall you fall. there is no stopping it, there is no forcing it. its not something you can make happen or stop from happening. and believe me you are worth it to many people.

love is a box. it comes in many different shapes and sizes, and every box holds something different. some day some one will open the box that has you in it.

Twice.

First time was a hard, sudden, obsessive, what-the-hell-is-wrong-with-me sort of love. Not pleasant, but makes for great movies and porn flicks.

Second one was a slow, quiet, comfortable, wonderful sort of love. Boring. But much better.

Ditto....well, that's how this second time around is working for me. I haven't reached the head-over-heels in love feeling with my boyfriend yet, but the feelings I have for him are getting stronger everyday.

a couple of times i thought i was in love but if the other person doesn't feel it then all you've got is a crush.

i keep hoping for it but as time progresses i understand that it is unlikely to happen.

I've been in love at least three times, but I've had dozens of extremely passionate affairs that last periods of several months each. Some of the affairs overlapped, and so I couldn't consider them being in love, since I was not moved to monogamy. However, there were three or four cases in which I was monogamous, however temporary it might have been. I would still take any of those guys back, given the chance, but not all at once.

Oh, I think it's possible to fall in love more than once in a lifetime.
Twice, three times, maybe more. I don't think there's a limit on it, it just depends on how your life goes and who you meet.

I do think there's nothing like the first time though. It's incredible beyond all words, and painful beyond description when (if) it comes to an end.
"The First Cut is the Deepest", in other words.

When Tim and I broke up, I truly thought I was going to die. Hell, if there had been a button by my bed that could have ended it all right then and there, I would have pushed it...there's no doubt about that.

But, you get over it. Not entirely, of course, but that sharp pain becomes a dull throb over time that you learn to live with...

The best revenge, I think, is living well, and that means to get back out there and keep trying until it comes to you again.

And eventually, it will. If you can hold on and not get too bitter or depressed about things.

Maybe I should take my own advice.
