Probably not that much. May be less than $1,000 a video. Guessing. It's the studio that makes the money. You pay $40 to $60 for a video that probably has a unit cost that is very low.

From what I've read, the guys in gay videos make considerably more than male performers in straight videos. The males in straight porn are there more out of necessity than anything else. Obviously most straight porn videos are sold to straight men and they are more interested in what the women look like.

I have read that gay video workers make an average from $750.00 - $1500.00 per scene with some big name performers making upwards of $3000.00 - $5000.00 per scene in a big budget flick. Someone like Ken Ryker (in his prime) was someone who could have made a big paycheck if he would have bottomed. I wouldn't doubt any of the big companies would have paid him $10,000.00 or more for that scene.

Many of these guys do escort work outside of their porn work and the porn videos are nothing more than paid advertisements for them. They make MUCH more escorting than they do making porn videos. I'm inclined to agree...Not bloody much.

Consider the fact that once you have done a bit of porn your future job prospects are severely curtailed. Just a few jobs that you won't be likely to land: Teacher, counsellor, social worker, virtually any position working with children or teens, public figure except perhaps activist, mainstream actor (in most cases), actor in commercials... The list is endless. All those possibilities of a future wiped out for a month's rent money (maybee). Even main-stream modelling agency contracts have a prohibition on past or present porn appearances.

Porn may be ubiquitous, but it still isn't a acceptable way to make a living in the eyes of many as it is viewed as a form of prostitution. Weather that is 'right or wrong' is another matter all together.

I'd venture guess that having a wank or a dick up your cootch on camera generally closes more doors than it opens. No something that most people would want to see on your CV.

So here is what I know directly from guys I know who have worked for the companies and did vids.

Military Classified-- 300 to get blown.

Buzz West 200 bucks for a jerk off video.

Chaos Men with another guy and did everything said he got paid 4k- though, I think this guy might be lying.

Active Duty.com photo shoot/solo -- $900; bareback video with another guy (with Cole) $2,800; bareback 3- way video-- $3,000; Webcam show -$200.

Sean Cody solo -- $1000; Sean Cody with another guy $3,500 for doing everything under the sun and a different guy who did a Sean Cody vid with another guy got paid $900.

Randy Blue group jerk off video $1,100.

Body Shoppe -- $175 to bottom for another military guy (yes, I told him he was cheap!); $100 for a jerk off video including Uncle Don's creepy molestation feel up.

San Diego Boys video with another guy $300 - 600

Dirk Yates marine on marine scene- $1300

I keep hearing that Jake Cruise pays extremely well.

agreed -- the pay is too low for the risk. I've warned marines who have thought about doing porn to at least think of all the consequences including jail time from the military; being hit on by guys when they are more into girls; family and friends finding out; and after they are out of the military- having the video pop up at work to their embarrassment.

Most of the guys I know needed money for a cell phone bill or a car payment- a luxury item.

I suspect the fees are highly variable on these "amateur" sites, since the guys are usually doing it for the first time and may be pretty naive. On one of Bobby Garcia's shoots (awolmarines) I thought I heard him tell somebody he'd be getting $50! Of course he goes through a huge amount of guys and the quality is -- shall we say -- variable.

On the other hand, if you get a guy like Dean on Active Duty -- possibly the hottest guy ever -- and you use him repeatedly like Dink does, I'll bet he's making pretty good money. Maybe not enough to live on, though. Damn, wouldn't I love to hear that he does "escort" work, not that I could ever afford him.
