It's a bit involved, but some of the lines this Oklahoma granny threw at the officer were pure theater.

The comments are priceless.

She was obviously driving without comprehensive insurance, but owns cattle. Then, she drives the damaged truck between towns that way for at least six months.

Happened four years ago, and she took some kind of plea bargain. Wonder if Hank was pissed or amused or both.

Admittedly I stopped the video after she hit the pavement so I have yet to hear what I assume is the titular line, but it seems like just another Sunday in America to me.

I never lived in a state where you had to sign for your summons. What was the point of that? They're going to come after her if she doesn't pay it anyway. Seems like a way to purposely goad people who might already be distraught about getting a fine to be more obstinate, which is exactly the point at which this situation here escalated.

Maybe he needed to meet his quota of Facebook-worthy video footage that week.

EIther way, I think the cop's reaction was disproportionate. All she did was mouth off to him. Sure she was a trash bag, but even white trash doesn't deserve to have their dignity robbed for a broken tail light and a foul mouth.

And what's this about an uncovered brake light blinding drivers? Pshaw. I've driven behind plenty of busted tail lights. That's nonsense.

I did live in a trailer park, moved about 18 months back. I would point out that dealing with people and living around them are two different things. But, let me ask you what makes her "white trash"? Is it low income?, maybe she is obese?, a foul mouth? Oh, I see, just like the cop you might be judging her for driving an ugly truck. As for her gender, this is equality at it's best... treat her just like anyone else that resists arrest and flees. Frankly, I am old school, I couldn't treat a woman in such a fashion.

I also read the same, great minds think alike. Just a bit disappointed she was tasered and not tasted.. I'll take that back I just watched the video.

I imagine her sedentary lifestyle would make her quite tender, but her diet of corn nuts, beef jerky and Michelob would render her flesh far too acrid.

There isn't any real suggestion she's poor. She drives almost daily from one town to another to check on their cattle. It's just more like she's unwilling to pay the cost of replacing the truck she likely ruined or replacing the bed.

The cop never actually said the title line, but one of the comments posted an imagined dialogue that took a riff on the cops question when he asked if she was related to Hank and she replied he was her son. It was a pretty funny comment.

The fine was minor, $80. She knew she was driving at risk, and whether it was minor or not, he certainly wasn't aggressive in any way as he addressed her. At every turn, she either blew him and his authority off, or tried to haggle, or outright refused to accept lawful commands.

Her antics speak volumes about the state of affairs in the Me Generation. She wasn't harrassed, bullied, or treated unfairly or rudely. She acknowledged her truck was out of lawful condition (would not have passed an inspection.) The only thing was that she refused to be governed by the law.

That is indeed symptomatic of a great many Americans. They comply to varying degrees, but justify uncivil disobedience simply because some arrests are unfair or because they've traditionally enjoyed privilege and cannot accept equality.

If you don't want to be tased, don't flee an arrest, and if you don't want to be arrested, sign the summons, which does nothing more than acknowledge beyond any reasonable doubt that you were present with the officer so cannot deny you were driving, etc. It seems a small matter, so if you choose to make it a major incident, it's all on you.

Indeed. They confuse the rights in law which are asserted in courts before a magistrate, and won or lost based on judicial determination, with arbitrary assertions on the fly, basically willfulness as exhibited by this arrogant old woman.

And, contrary to the flip comment that merely being black would have resulted in her death, the real factor is whether the criminal demonstrates aggression in any violent manner versus simply exhibits frustration and incredulity. The old woman never demonstrated any intent to harm the arresting officer -- quite the contrary.

Yet, her flight, as any criminal's, could have easily ended in her death. Cops can only second guess with some much risk and have plenty of reasons to fear anyone who refuses to accept the authority of the police.

Many of these flights DO include armed drivers and do put the police at risk of death.

There was just no reason to have all this drama over a simple $80 fine. She had the ability to contest it. Likely, she couldn't get to that point of reason because she was so effronted by the situation that she let her ego determine her actions.

In this age of social media and "news" programs that do little more than show snippets of events and suggest context, her retorts are comical, but just. Either we live in a society that has police and law, or we abandone all that and are left to all those citizens that act like vigilantes, and follow no rules.

Despite glaring examples of police misconduct, I'm going to continue to abide by lawful directions, and truly believe at least 99% of interactions are completely legitimate and involve criminals doing criminal things, and officers taking prescribed actions to apprehend them.
