Iron Man 2 casts its Black Widow

British actress Emily Blunt is the frontrunner to land the role as femme-fatale the Black Widow in the forthcoming Iron Man sequel.

The Devil Wears Prada has been namechecked as director Jon Favreau's favourite to take on the part of Russian spy Natasha Romanoff in the follow-up of the 2008 blockbuster.

The character transforms into comic book siren the Black Widow; an evil nemesis of Tony Stark, played by Robert Downey, Jr.

Blunt is the latest Hollywood name connected to the project, with Mickey Rourke, Tim Robbins and Sam Rockwell all reportedly in negotiations to star in the film.

The movie is scheduled to hit cinemas in summer 2010.

hell..they could have gotten Sienna Miller since she looks awesome as the Baronness...just put a red wig on her and take off the glasses and you have Black Widow

I like Emily Blunt, but I don't really see her as Black Window. But I didn't really see Robert Downey, Jr as Tony Stark and he brought that character to life.

Im just happy they're actually getting good actors for the movie.

The thing I find with Robert Downey Junior that is pretty nice is that he actually LOOKS the part of Tony Stark, and which makes him perfect for the role, he can act it.

Yah that's probably it thedolaon. It was a pretty good movie.

Gi Joe and Transformers 2 will be two of the movies that some people will say is good because of just the action, or the plot. They'd just better be good or I might just send a few angry e-mails... HA, I'll just lead the crushing of the DVD's when they come out.
