Christina isn't the voice of the generation anymore. Many of her recent live performances have been awful. I think she got the title because she had such a big voice coming from such a small body, which was incredible. And she was genuinely selling a voice with fun/nice videos and not being a total hoe.

^Fucking amazing.

But in all honesty, she's had more bad live performances than good through her career, and as a vocalist she probably peaked on her Back to Basics tour. She still sounds amazing on record but let's be honest, none of the live performances done to promote Lotus were as good as the recorded version of the performed material, and actually in some cases not even remotely close. I think the best one was the one on Ellen for Just a Fool.

Lately I feel like Carrie Underwood, Leona Lewis, Beyonce, Kelly Clarkson, and Adele all do better than her as vocalists. Some older ladies, like Celine and Mariah have always been better vocalists than Christina too. Mariah in particular is an amazing vocalist. Her skills as a vocalist are second to none. That bitch owns. Celine is right up there too and I feel as if her voice has aged better than Mariah's.

Whitney's voice aged HORRIBLY though. Though I will agree that when she was 30, she was way better than Christina as a vocalist, who is 30 now, along with probably every other person I mentioned who are all in their 20s-30s currently.

Mariah could hold her own though, as could Celine.

I just left her out because we wont be seeing performances by her anymore, and the little comeback she attempted before her demise wasn't exactly her at her vocal peak.

I don't think Christina is really there, though she obviously sings very well. She just doesn't have nearly the control or power. She grunts and screams too much.
