Is this the vocalist of our generation?

I'm not seriously pissed lol. I just felt like cutting that girl past the white meat.

^Christina put out hit ballads with a unique voice at the time where teen pop was dominating radio (and Beyonce was putting out pop with Destiny's Child at that point). She brought attention to her voice.

Also, honestly, Christina's voice is amazing. It is a once in a generation voice. Of all the females listed in this topic, she has the second best vocal range (best: Mariah Carey). So the voice is special as fuck. And yes, she has more range than Beyonce.

Bee gives a voice to generation that (if anything) wants to escape from seriousness and have some fun.
So does Katy Perry, Rihanna, Lady GaGa, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, ..... [list continues]

I just feel like Beyonce's success is overrated.

She doesn't do a great job at singing emotional stuff despite having a near flawless vocal technique, and people act like she's a major hit maker, when in reality, the majority of her biggest hits are collaborations with other artists or her with Destiny's Child.

Of Beyonce's top 10 biggest hits in the US, she's the soloist in only 2 of them. In the 8 others she's either with Destiny's Child or has other artists featured on the songs. Her biggest hit in the US is still Independent Women with Destiny's Child.

Her biggest hits in the US

#1. Independent Women part 1 (with Destiny's Child)
#2. Irreplaceable
#3. Baby Boy (with Sean Paul)
#4. Crazy in Love (with Jay-Z)
#5. Check on It (with Slim Thug)
#6. Single Ladies
#7. Jumpin' Jumpin' (with Destiny's Child)
#8. Say My Name (Destiny's Child)
#9. Lose My Breath (Destiny's Chlid)
#10. Survivor (Destiny's Child)

So yea, grats on the Grammys, but really she probably wouldn't be close to where she is now if it wasn't for all the collabs she's done in her career.

See, you state that as if it part of the other facts (list of songs) you posted. This part here isn't a fact, it's an opinion. To me, and to other people, she has emotion in her songs. As mentioned, I don't deny Christina Aguilera doesn't, but because you keep bringing up Bey's up-tempo/pop songs, it makes me think you haven't heard 90% of her other songs. I've heard pretty much all of Christina's and all of Beyoncés because I own all of their solo work. Tbqh, I prefer Beyoncé's slower songs; Rather Die Young, Smash Into You, Disappear, Resentment, Speechless, Me, Myself, and I, and others. Don't tell me Beyoncé doesn't have emotion if you can't back it up.

^It was an opinion, I'm sorry it came off as a fact. But, the fact is that none of her emotional songs have performed as well or resonated as well with the general public.

I don't see anyone saying Beyonce and then instantly saying her biggest hits are Me Myself and I, or Halo. But it's fair to assume that Beautiful is Christina's signature song (or one of them). Many female singers who are praised for their vocal ability seem to have a slower paced ballad as one of their biggest and/or most memorable songs. Beyonce doesn't. That, is a fact.

Britney made more money than Beyonce last year tho.

Like Rick Grimes, Britney was doing thangs in 2012. Beyonce was busy naming ugly names to babies. Oh well, Bey's net worth is more than Brit's.

Britney's about to get paid $300,000,000 to do a show in Vegas.

When Beyonce is offered even a third of that to do anything, we can pick this debate back up.

When Christina is at a level where she can deliver a knockout Superbowl halftime concert and kill a Pepsi commercial, maybe the conversation starts about her beating Beyonce.

Britney did all of those things first.

About to, gurl, not yet. I hope she is able to sell tickets, though. *thinks back to Femme Fatale's Brazil dates* Ouch.

Meanwhile, Bey selling out in 7 seconds and shit.

tbh, all of these debates are irrelevant because all of these girls were in their prime in our generation (except for Whitney and Mariah, they were like three generations ago).

The voice of this generation is Rihanna.

Sorry bout it.

In all fairness, as current as Beyonce is, she failed to beat the record for viewership Madonna set the year before her. In fact, the blackout that followed Bey's performance had more viewers than her performance.

Independent Women was a hit?

News to me.

Also, was Rihasha really just brought up? Might as well bring up Ciara too.
