without a car and relying on public transportation, it is light years apart. if i could use my mom's or bro's car, it would be like a 20 minute drive to jersey city or an hour drive to new york BUT at the moment, i wouldn't do it considering how i just can't take anybody's car and go driving with them.

You can set your screen saver to a black screen and set it to come up on a short timer if you like. Under control panel/personalization/screen saver.
