That is too funny kenny. I just saw this for the first time this weekend in Dallas with my fellow JOOBers!

It was absolutely fantastic. I agree.

I tried not to cry like a little girl in front of the other people....

!oops!

But yes, fantastic story and movie! ..|

I really liked it when I watched it. I love anything with Joseph Gordon-Levitt
in it, even if he is kind of a dick in this movie. I was also really happy that the ending was good and not sad like so many other romance movies.

The theater in Salt Lake City opted at the last minute not to show the movie. They claimed it "lacked artistic merit".

They didn't watch the same movie I did.

Tonyboy has been trying to get me to see this for a while. I guess I need to get it.

i heard you sniffle!

i liked this movie. and damn if sandvoss isn't friggin' hot.

Love Latter Days. Funny thing is when my friend and I watched it for the first time last year, it was because her boyfriend at the time looked like Steve Sandvoss/Aaron, as she had heard multiple times before I did (I watched clips on Youtube before bringing up the movie to her).Even funnier is that it was her boyfriend that bought the movie for himself, as well as Brokeback.... Yeah.... we often wondered about him.

I hear you...

I think JGL is smoking hot too..

I appreciate his range...The last movie I saw him in was "mysterious skin" where he played a hustler, who helped to unfold another his role in another kids fucked up past..

Now here here he is, a Mormon Missionary...A lot more abrassive than any Missionary I'd ever met, but just the same..

Mysterious Skin was another great movie, but so depressing and some of it is hard to watch... Kinda like L.I.E.

Love love love this movie! When they kiss outside in the snow, I cried like a baby!

my bf is an exmoron...he did not like how he was treated, especially with the gay agenda that they have. I watched this movie with him back in June. I wonderful wonderful movie. Want us to watch it again!

Interestingly, Latter Days was released the same year as Angels In America, which also touched on Mormon issue, which got me wondering if all Mormon men are hot. If so, sign me up! ;p

I do like Latter Days. I still pop in the DVD to watch it when I feel like it. But I just don't like the dry area - the part where Aaron went back and faced all those torturing moments... it makes the love movie less lovely. But still, I understand it is supposed to share with us the pain Mormon go through for this so-called recovery.

What I really want to see is a part 2. We deserve another movie to celebrate Aaron and Christian's love - where Aaron has to face Christian's ghosts - flirtatious years.

The director came out with another gay themed film this year. Steve Sandvoss is in it again, but not as a lead. The bad news for me is that it has Tori Spelling. Simply irritating.

Darling JUBer's,

This is one of the best Movies to watch. It really does rip your heart out and get the tears running.

I am a Christian, a real one who talks to God and hears from Him. I believe that everyone who claims to be a Christian should be forced to watch "Latter Days". My Partner and I both live it. He cried and cried when he watched it. There are too many people who claim to be Christian who say to gay people "just decide to change". It is done with no compassion or even any indication of how this change would take place. If they were in a relationship with God then they would have His love and compassion for others and not condemnation. They would reach out to the gay people in love. Gay people suffer because they are gay.

I have a heart for the suffering of all people. I cry when young guys say to me they don't want to be gay. I understand this to mean they don't want to lose family and friends and be looked upon as less than normal. God would not abandon 10% of the population so why should His Church???

There is a good story on the Nifty Archives of a Mormon boy. http://www.nifty.org/nifty/gay/encounters/sexual-mormon

I liked it too. You might want to check out "Close to Leo" if you like heartwarming stories. The closeness of the family was great. It's French, so yeah there are subtitles. Unless you happen to speak French..Lucky you..:) Some nice midnight swimming scenes. Have your zoom and slow motion ready.
