Mamma Mia Best Picture???

I actually liked that movie...

Don't know if it's worthy of a best musical/comedy but Ms. Streep is very deserving. She was amazing in the movie!

Why is this a shock? It surely is the biggest movie of the year since it was still in the cinema during November.

And Meryl Streep is very deserving of an award.

What other musical/comedies were there?

I thought what a 'girly flick'! I did not like it, music and dancing was too choppy!

It's the Golden Globes so there are always movies that are popular but will not be nominated for any other awards thrown a bone. Also scains the biggest movie of the year was The Dark Knight.

It was the only big musical to get released this year. I don't expect it to go any further than the Golden Globes.

The movie was really love it or hate it and I know plently of people that enjoyed it. The movie was very popular it is not much of a suprise it got a nod.

It's much easier to get nominated for a GG in the Musical/Comedy category because there are so many fewer musicals and comedies than dramas.

Australia received no GG nominations.

That probably means it'll be shut out of the Academy Awards.

Don't worry, Mamma Mia and Australia won't get anywhere near the Oscars. Hugh Jackman's hosting gig all but confirms that Australia stands no chance at all.

But you know, Mamma Mia was a huge hit, especially internationally, and besides, the Globes are all about celebrity. They even nominated Tom Cruise, heh.

I'm 43 minutes into the movie as I type this and that annoying English guy just started butchering my only favorite ABBA song, 'Lay All Your Love On Me.'

This is one of the worst musicals I've ever seen. 'A Chorus Line' was better. Even the wonderful Meryl Streep can't save this.

I like that ABBA songs so that was why I saw the movie. I ended up loving most of it. It was not the best Musical I have seen and parts were pretty lame but I guess it was the music that I enjoyed the most.
