Could you please spend more than five seconds on a thought before you reply? Race doesn't actually exist. It isn't a physical thing like being a separate species. Race is a thought concept that grew legs and ran because at least half of humanity are hindered by us/them instincts/mentality. As such race as a concept is based on more than skin pigmentation. If it weren't people would not inquire about others racial backgrounds because they could tell at a glance by the color of our skin.

You might have noticed that people are shit when guessing, well, damn near anything - that includes background by skin pigmentation. Skin pigmentation is just the big go-to as shorthand (these days anyway, was a bit different way back when) because people love simplicity. Again, the concept of race as a thing includes more than skin pigmentation. Otherwise we wouldn't say 'passing as ----'.

And here I thought we came off the boat from desperation because the governing bodies in Ireland were selling the food we could've eaten at profit while the potatos we were left with rotted. And let's not forget the evictions and the destruction of homes and property for monetary gain.

I've been to the Netherlands, Sweden, Hong Kong, Berlin, Vancouver, Seattle ... If you gave me six rooms, each filled with 50 randomly-chosen citizens from each place, I could tell which room comes from which city just by looking. Even if they were naked and had no cultural artefacts on them to give me a clue.

Some individual people might be hard to place, but some frequent physical characteristics are not. There are characteristics of being Swedish or Dutch or German or Cantonese that are easy to see in people's faces or builds or eyes or skin.

Discriminated yes, but considered not white, no. The entire notion is a recent invention arising from the liberals strategy of calling every thing race and racism which have nothing to do with race. And the discrimination arose in part from the hostility which the Irish brought with them.
