Whitney wins. She has more hype surrounding her album and her song is doing better on the charts than "Obsessed" is. She's also SINGING on her song. Mariah is hardly singing on "Obsessed". Just a manipulated, auto-tuned song with very little actual SINGING. Whitney would sing circles around Mariah. Mariah would break out the auto-tune box on stage to help her out. Whitney is showcasing talent (actually SINGING), Mariah is following a trend (auto-tune).

Also, Whitney's new album is selling much much much much better on Amazon.com than Mariah's new album. Whitney's new album is currently the #3rd best-selling album. Behind only Michael Jackson's two albums. If he hadn't died she would be #1!

Whitney wins.

Whitney destroyed Mariah here. Mariah Carey can't touch Whitney Houston. And Whitney showed who the better diva is that night. :=D:

And like I said, Whitney would sing circles around Mariah. :lol: Put them two on stage today and see who will do a better job. Mariah singing her auto-tuned "Obsessed" or Whitney singing a REAL song, "I Look To You". Whitney would destroy Mariah (again). And Whitney would be the one getting a standing ovation for her performance. Mariah never gets a standing ovation.

they both suck. both have great voices but never worthy material.
 
After that peformance at MJ's memorial Mariah needs to be having some practice singing live. Whitney is the only singer I know that sounds better singing live than in the studio.

About this renewed rivarly. I wish this wasn't happening we should support both ladies. Me personally think Mariah was letting Whitney enjoy her comeback, so she pushed it back. Or the pushback could be for a totally different reason (ie. bad charting single, bigger buzz about Whitney, potential flop)

While we talk about MC's and Nippys upcoming albums what about Madonna and Leona Lewis? It'll be intersting to see how all four do when everyone's cds are out

"Obsessed" is entertaining. "I Look To You" is bland and a snoozefest. Was thinking "Million Dollar Bill" might be something worthy of a hit, but I was wrong. It as well, was boring. This isn't building up to be much of a "comeback" cd. The material is terrible so far.
Of course Whitney's is more hyped. Mariah already had her comeback, so anyone who compares the hype of Whitney's "comeback" cd, her first in like 7 years, to a normal release from someone who just released a cd last year so that they can try and back up their petty argument that one is superior to the other, is an idiot.
 
The New York Post is reporting that Mariah is getting nervous now that Whitney's making a comeback. !oops! :lol:

MARIAH Carey is said to be scrambling to complete her new album, "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel." "She's getting very nervous now that Whitney Houston is coming back," said our source. We're told Carey signed with manager Chris Lighty four months ago, but the album still isn't finished. Lighty told Page Six by e-mail, "My management company is dealing with [Mariah's] music, brand extensions and commercial opportunities. We love Mariah." Carey hasn't had a music manager since splitting with Benny Medina last September and has only released one single -- "Obsessed" -- off the album so far. We tried to get more details from Lighty, but he told us he was "at the beach" and couldn't talk. When we called her p.r. firm, a rep said, "We are no longer working with Mariah."

I just like Whitneys voice so much better. She is also doing much better now that shes done with Bobby Brown
 
Mariah would be better off taking her time finishing the record and making sure she comes with it rather than rushing to put something out before Whitney. She can release it during the holiday season and it will sell better.
 
There are rumors that Mariahs new cd will be pushed back yet again. After the first single 'Obsessed' flopped, they are nervous.
