Even after all the drugs and "kiss my ass" comments, Whitney Houston is STILL far more classier than Mariah Carey is and will ever be. ESPECIALLY out in public and on stage.

Mariah struts around like a stripper with her breasts exposed and her ass always hanging out. That's trashy. Whitney keeps it classy out in public. What she did and said on her reality show with Bobby is irrelevant now. Old news. They were both under the influence and clearly she wasn't in her right frame of mind at the time. Now she is clean and focused, and has been keeping it nothing but CLASSY. Something Mariah obviously doesn't know anything about. She'll continue to show off her breasts and strut around in hoochie shorts. :(

Whitney Houston: Unlike Mariah, she actually has talent.

Mariah Carey is in "Glitter" mode again. As her career comes crashing down, her PR team is using a recently fired Fox News gossip columnist to tell us that "Obsessed" never really was a single, despite the fact that it has been advertised as one.

In the past, Mariah has been accused of using shady gossip columnists to give other singers bad publicity. This became very evident today when after weeks of bad publicity, the New York Daily News suddenly comes up with this article, which not only contains several factual errors, but sounds like something written by Mariah's publicity team.

The most noticeable and ridiculous part of the article is how it puts down Whitney Houston. It claims that Whitney Houston should be thankful that there is no showdown with Mariah because Whitney's single, "I Look to You" has received lukewarm reception and only debuted at number 74 while "Obsessed" debuted at number 11. What it doesn't claim is the truth: "I Look to You" has had a very good (maybe not excellent) response and as Whitney Fans pointed out on this column a few weeks back, the song was given away for free before it appeared on iTunes. If it wasn't given away for free, more people would have bought it from iTunes, causing the song to debut higher.

"Obesessed" debuted at number 11 because Mariah repressed downloads of the single (something that should become illegal) for three weeks after the song was released to radio. The song fell like a stone the week after. Does the Gatecrasher column actually have a fact checker? Apparently not! But that doesn't matter since they are obviously trying to spin all the bad publicity Mariah has received recently.

Furthermore, there really is no competition between Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. For one thing, Whitney Houston (even though she doesn't sing anything like she used to) is a real talent. Mariah Carey, as revealed by recent performances, can't sing if her life depended on it. Dog whistling and pig howling are not singing. Whitney Houston, unlike Mariah Carey, can make an emotional connection with her songs. Let's hope that Whitney Houston never uses the desperate public relations tactics that Mariah Carey uses.

Mariah's younger than Whitney "Absolutist," so how exactly is she outlasting Whitney? Whitney started years before Mariah did, and Whitney is still going. And all of this press/exposure Whitney is getting is proof that Whitney is still relevant to a lot of people (regardless of how this album does). You are just as delusional as you're accusing SexyKev as being.
 
Absolutist -- you're taking a lot of liberties in your assessment of Whitney's career in addition to blatant inaccuracies (ie - Whitney was on record as early as 1983). And by the way, being relevant when you haven't released an album in years is a rarity, not an everyday occurrence. You're logic is baffling and highly colored by your prejudice toward Mariah.

And finally, here is a new song by Whitney called Salute. This is not from the 80's and for me personally, this is more soulful and complete than anything I've heard from Mariah in a long time -- of course this is my *subjective* opinion. But you see, at least I'm not delusional and blinded like you are to be able to admit that.

 
By the way, I don't expect "Absolutist" to like the new Whitney song. I posted it because Whitney's voice and soul can speak volumes for me better than any eloquent argument I could post. I'm hoping some of my fellow Whitney admirers will enjoy the song as much as I do. Peace

And isn't that funny? Whitney is the one who abused drugs for years, yet Mariah's voice is worse off than hers today. !oops!
 
For some reason I've always preferred Whitney. Some of Mariah's songs are more catchy and diverse, but Whitney is just a fascinating human being. I could watch her performances/interviews on YouTube endlessly. I live a very full life.

Whitney's new song is nice, kind of boring... but you know, not a disappointment. Her voice will never shine as brightly as it did in 1990, but she is trying and gives it her all (and ALWAYS sings live!!!). Mariah's new song is trashy and the video is embarrassing. Lately, all her songs seem to just sound the same, and that computerized effect to her voice in "Obsessed" makes you wonder if she is in fact the same singer that once belted songs like "Anytime You Need a Friend" (My personal fave!!) and "Vanishing". I wish she would just take some time to let her voice rest and create a quality album.

So yeah. Anyway. I pick Whitney.
 
Yeah Mariah is trashy and should grow up a bit. She is the definition of a mid-life crises.
Wearing tight clothes that show her fake breasts.
Dating a guy 10 years younger then her.
Trying to beef with a rapper that will shred her ass to bits.
Trying to keep up with the younger generation of music by using autotune.

The HYPE around this album is so great, she just might. She's already TOPPED all of the best-sellers and pre-orders list for all the major music stores (Amazon, iTunes, Tower, Walmart, Target). I'm expecting big numbers. Especially after she goes on Oprah for the big interview everyone is waiting for on Sept. 14th. :D

Although I love Whitney it is a lot harder to sell albums nowadays. You need at least one hit to be able sell at least half a million. Mariah's last album, the song, Touch my Body was a hit. She went on American Idol Xfactor, and other music shows and still wound up selling only 1 million.
Her title song went from 19 to 23 on R&B charts and completely fell off the hot 100.

But then again Whitney is going on Oprah. If Oprah can talk people into buying books I am sure she can talk people into buying Whitney's album.
 
Its funny in the video how Alicia is talking about how beautiful Whitney's face is. Alicia Keys is no doubt a lesbian.

This 30 second clip of Mariah's song from the movie PRECIOUS sounds much better than all 3 of Whitney's. And yet people think she needs autotune ;) Haters. I'm gonna laugh when Whitney comes out with autotune. She already uses ProTools to death. Thats why it still sounds like she has a part of her voice left. She better use it during live performances um, I mean, PRE TAPED.

Mariah stated that she had vocal nodules on her voice since she was a kid. If that's true, that would definitely play a role in the deterioration of her voice.
