Op-Ed Martin Bashir Says Someone Should Sh*t in Sarah Palin’s Mouth

I watch Bashir every day and opinterph is correct with all he said. I love it when he posts, I don't have to come up with my own post, I just say I agree. Neat, huh?
Jack that crack about the 50 year partnership is the worse I've seen you post. Your hatred is more than Bashir's. You agreeing with Palin about the partners makes you just as sick as she is.

If after 50 years a person hasn't put a plan in place to protect yourself and your partner, both are idiots. It has nothing to do with the sexual preference.

Straight people do make plans like that ... you want to be treated special. You aren't special.

Plans to visit each other at the hospital? They most assuredly do not. And the plans they do make, are based around the comfort of a legal status that never questions their relation to each other.

The fact that you keep repeating the "special treatment" argument, makes you a homophobe. The fact that we know nothing about you, makes this very easy to believe too.

The fact that you make stuff up makes you a .......

I'm not making anything up. To claim that after a lifetime of oppression and bigotry, gays are just whining for special treatment, is virulently homophobic, and frankly I'm struggling to picture an actual homosexual ever saying such a despicable lie.

Bashir resigned (or was he fired).

his comment:

After making an on-air apology, I asked for permission to take some additional time out around the Thanksgiving holiday.
Upon further reflection, and after meeting with the President of MSNBC, I have tendered my resignation. It is my sincere hope that all of my colleagues, at this special network, will be allowed to focus on the issues that matter without the distraction of myself or my ill-judged comments.

I deeply regret what was said, will endeavor to work hard at making constructive contributions in the future and will always have a deep appreciation for our viewers – who are the smartest, most compassionate and discerning of all television audiences. I would also wish to express deepest gratitude to my immediate colleagues, and our contributors, all of whom have given so much of themselves to our broadcast.’

This is both idiotic and offensive. I can' think of one time when a straight couple had to make plans about hospital visitation. In Canada homos don't have to any more.

As everyone says, it isn't about being special. It is about being equal. Too bad that you can't see that.

Fine, I'll gladly steer us back on topic. Sarah Palin's hateful comments and stalwart support for discriminatory law really does put gay couples in real live heartbreaking situations. She gives courage to bullies and hatemongers, and her views as an erstwhile ersatz leader cause real suffering for innocent people, who would willingly degrade themselves to escape even some of the laws and policies she committed to uphold.

I'm sorry Bashir resigned, because somewhere an orifice should be depositing a turd into Palin's mouth, rather than the usual situation where her mouth spews out the bullshit.

Proof that MSNBC is actual news as opposed to Fox. If a journalist on MSNBC says something derogatory about a celebrity, they face the consequences. On Fox where they bad mouth and lie on an hourly basis, they keep their jobs because it's encouraged and expected. Unless Roger Ailes finds you so over the top like he did with Palin herself. And loudmouth chicken-shit Hannity. And pudgy Rove.

MSNBC = real news

Fox - right wing propaganda and lies

So you support shitting in people's mouths. How liberal of you.

I support holding Sarah Palin accountable for the despair caused by the policies she glibly trumpets, and I think there is an ethical equivalence between what she has wrought and a turd landing on her tongue. Think of it more as good old fashioned conservative accountability; an eye for an eye; a turd for a turd.

Not only did Jack Springer call homosexuality a "sexual preference" but he asserts that marriage equality is "special treatment."

This is the part where the red flag goes up.

Glad Bashir is gone. He's a jerk... just because one may be on the right side of issues doesn't give one the right to be unprofessional. And I don't really agree he's so right on the issues...maybe I like his context to some extent better than Sarah Palin's. I don't really have sympathy for Sarah Pain's viewpoints for the most part. But what he said was disgusting... an Edward R Murrow, a Walter Cronkite would NEVER act like that even if they strongly disagreed with Sarah Palin's perspectives. I think Jack's perspective definitely runs farther right than mine, and I sometimes disagree with what he says.... sometimes VERY strongly. But in terms of what those on the left for the most part say and act predictably in response, I don't see their conduct as so much more noble or righteous, more self-righteous. They exempt from their side those who are worthy of sharp criticism, or denunciation... only those on the right or who deviate from the progressive line in any way are to be attacked. If someone behaves wrongly, it shouldn't matter they think the right way... if they aren't professional they should face the consequences of unprofessional statements and actions, whatever their perspective. Bashir finally did, thankfully.
