Memorable movie scenes ...

Devdas (2002)

For those uninitiated in Bollywood productions, I can say, hands down, this is one of the most singularly beautiful films I have ever seen, and the climactic scene is truly heartbreaking and unforgettable.

The Lion King (1994)

I never liked the film much, but I can't deny that the opening sequence is AMAZING!

Angels in America (2003)

Still one of the very best television events ever. The scene where the Angel arrives for the first time is perfect.

Wit (2001)

One of Emma Thompson's best performances is in this television film which is little known. In this scene, she and Eileen Atkins discuss John Donne's Holy Sonnet X.

Amadeus, when a dying Mozart dictates the Requiem to Salieri. oh my gosh, so moving and so brilliant.

Easily the most memorable and best scene in the entire film:

The ending to A.I. makes me cry every time I see it. I don't understand it! :-({|=

Oooh, I love that film.

Call me a cynic though, I thought it would have been heartbreakingly brilliant if the film had ended as he sat at the bottom of the ocean, wishing to the Blue Fairy.

I do like the scene you've posted but it feels to me a little like a forced happy ending. :D

Some Like It Hot ending

Funny you should say that. If you dig into Youtube a bit, you'll see a clip from Steven Spielberg explaining why he made that ending despite the criticism of people saying he should have ended it in the ocean scene. He explained that the final ending is exactly how Stanley Kubrick wanted to end the film and he felt it was important to fulfill that wish.
