I'd just like to know if there are any metal heads in our gay community who have a preference for harder styles of music.
I even like death metal, my favorites are:
Crowbar, Death, Carcass, As I Lay Dying, Entombed, God Forbid (they are GOD), Bolt Thrower, Metallica, ...

Anyone with similar tastes here? Which metal bands do you like?

hmmm.. a lot of music

Bathory, summoning, old slayer, Falkenbach..... Nordic metal (black, doom) main type of music for me

Cirith ungol... old fav .... "One foot in Hell "
entombed is great....
Pantera, Priest, Kalmah, Satryicon, morbid angel, draconian, I like a lot not into core so much.

Listening to Pysclon 9 a lot now which isn't metal but arrgh-tech however heavily influnced by black metal "Crwn the Fornicator".

last album purchase Hollenthon "opus Magnum" & Priest 'nostrodamus" (okay about what I expected)

.... It is a hard road to tow being gay into metal music :-({|=

I try and enjoy listening to a bit of everything but I listen to a lot of metal and rock music.

Metallica (I wouldn't call myself a fan but I really like their sound), Guns N' Roses (not metal but I don't care...one of my top favorite bands ever), Killswitch Engage, Fear Factory, Stratovarius, Draconian, Otep, Powerwolf, Blazing Eternity, Charon, Dark Fortress, Emperor, Enter Shikari, Galadriel, Hammerfall, Gojira, Nevermore, Luca Turilli, Rhapsody, Moonspell, Pain Of Salvation (some call it progressive rock, some progressive metal), Skid Row, Static-X, Strapping Young Lad, Therion, Communic.

There's a lot of things I still don't know about. I only started getting into metal music like 3/4 years ago, when I realized, and appreciate, there was more out there besides Pop, R&B (so called "R&B"), Hip Hop and Techno or Trance.
I'm pretty picky when it comes to deah metal or black metal. Most of it it's so repetitive that it's, from both an artistic and emotional perspective, boring. Same with Power Metal...it gets too repetitive so I only like some bands.

I Love Metal. I really listen to a lot of th eold school bands, like Iron Maiden, Juds Priest, Slayer, Anthrax, Megadeath, Metllica, Motley Crue, i also like System Of a Down, Korn, and Marilyn Manson..

I saw As I Lay Dying a little while ago. They are really great.

I really like Killswitch Engage too. They are metal but mix in some traditional melodies with it too. Really unique sound.

I LOVEE them! Love their music! They fuckingg rock! PLUS the frontman is fucking hot! The otherr band members say he has a big cock...when they said that I got a boner!

Ok...sorry for tthe little hijack! :p

I am dating myself here, but I was in my younger days a great fan of Dio, Black Sabbath, Quiet Riot, The Scorpions (I actually still love the song "Send Me An Angel"), Metallica, and some of the Glam Rock bands of the 80's and 90's. I like some of today's music, but never know the name of the band when I hear it. A friend actually took me to some immense metal festival in Germany a few months ago which, at my age, I found quite amusing and interesting. I truly hope that metal is a genre that will never die. It will always have a place in the hearts of young people, and/or the young hearts of people...whichever...

Love metal, but I tend to like the older bands similar to LatinoStar and Chalchalaro's posts such as Ozzy, Pantera, Skid Row, G N' R, etc. Love the bands from the early 90s and earlier. After the 90s, a lot of the bands that are called "metal" seemed too mainstream for my taste, which to me is what many earlier rockbands tried not to be about.

I'm a huge fan of The SCORPIONS - esp, "Lovedrive" (1979), "Blackout" (1982) and "Face The Heat" (1993).

Some of their last songs are very powerfull to (like "New Generation")

Too bad that most people don't know that The Scorpions have such heavy epic songs like "Alien Nation" or "China White" They know only ballads.

I like also The Metallica (esp. their "Black Album" such songs like "My friend of Misery", which are heavy but melodic).

I like yearly Yngwie Malmsteen's albums.

I'm definitely into metal, and love going to the concerts. A few of my fav. bands are:

All That Remains, Atreyu, Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet For My Valentine, Children of Bodom, Devildriver, Dope, From Autumn to Ashes, Lamb of God, TRIVIUM and Disturbed (if you can call them "metal"; it's more nu-metal)

I can listen to some of Metallica's older stuff (although the new album is OK), and some System of a Down, too

I wouldn't call myself a metalhead, but my taste in music is very eclectic and definitely includes some hard rock. I really like 80's hair metal - I love the theatricality of it and how overtly sexual the song lyrics are! Also, I enjoy bands like STP, Alice in Chains and Metallica (not sure what you would label them). Something about their music is so masculine and exotic to me, and it's sexy.

I Can't say that I'm a Metalhead per se, but I am a huge music fan generally and occasionally some Metal or Metal inspired music will creep into my cd or mp3 player :band:. I love Metallica (will see them live with The Sword in March) and the new album is my favorite since the Kill em All & Ride the Lightning era. I am also a HUGE fan of Sevendust, Ive seen them live a number of times and they put on some of the best shows Ive ever seen. And the last 2 Mastadon cd's (particularly Leviathan) were amazing. I do like a lot of the old school stuff (Sabbath, Priest & Maiden) but I wasnt a fan of the hair band era with the exception of Tesla & Guns N' Roses. When the Grunge movement came along I was grateful to see a lot of that stuff get washed away and some of the metal inspired bands like Alice In Chains & Soundgarden come along with some really great music (Superunknown is one of my favorite albums of all time). I was also really into Rage Against The Machine for a time. I saw Slayer live about a decade back and was thankful I got out of that venue with my life. I also like Tool, Korn, Killswitch Engage, Breaking Benjamin, Muse (best and maybe the only baroque/dance/metal band in the world ;)), Deftones (though they suck live), Flyleaf, Shinedown, Nine Black Alps, The Used, Dredg, Life of Agony (surprised nobody mentioned them), Queens of the Stone Age, Trivium, Stone Sour, Rise Against, Black Mountain, System of a Down (but not Serj's solo stuff which sounds like bad Zappa or Mr. Bungle) and though they may be only cartoon characters I really dug the Dethklok cd.

Hi. Metal head here. My next gig is Slipknot.
I lol'd.
Anyways, I love metal. Grew up on it. Bands I find interesting: Opeth, Between the Buried and Me, Death, Cynic, Control Denied, Kreator, Heathen, Metallica, Megadeth, Benighted, Amon Amarth, Devin Townsend, Strapping Young Lad, Iron Maiden, Bathory, Immortal, Nile, and My Dying Bride just to name a few.
