My Fav Dead Artists R.I.P

Charlie Parker... Imagine where he could have gone.

Robert Johnson... the best bluesman in history of music ....

his work consist in masterpieces

You just earned 8,000 points in my book. I was just reading his Wiki page the other day. Sweet Home Chicago is my anthem, and he was certainly a fascinating man.

I know right he's just amazin !! my fav one is come on in my kitchen... dunno why but I have this feeling when I listen to it ... wow no songs and no singers has ever done that to me ahahah

^His fingering on the guitar was just hellacious and I love his smooth tenor, his falsetto notes were clear as a whistle. Listening to him and mimicking his octave-leaps (that he did was uncanny ease) helped me develop my falsetto.

well im glad i ve never met anyone who knows who is Mr Johnson ... usually people ... he's ur fav artist ? cool ?? who is he ? ahahah

Janis Joplin
Patsy Cline
Aaliyah
Left Eye
Pac
Biggie
Eva Cassidy
Jimi Hendrix
Sandy West (drummer for the Runaways)

Such talented and great music artists and they are not great because they passed, everyone of these artists had great respect during the time they were with us! RIP!

LOL, actually "who is he" is a tough question to answer, it's hard to separate fact from fiction with Mr. Johnson.

i know ! thats why i usually say he's from the 20s and u should listen to it ... anyway to find people who can actually like his music is almost impossible

nowadays when u say music people thinks abt spears, knowles and some other crap... (u know what i mean)

Personally I think the 20s-70s were THE best years for black music. It was creative, innovative, they were doing things/making sounds that people had never done before. I think it's going to be a long time before the black community has another creative spurt of that size that lasts for that long. We've been in a rut since the 90s. The 80s were.......different.

I was just talking about this with James04 in private messages earlier today. Most "music" fans today aren't really music fans, they're celebrity fans. They know next to nothing about music. Ask the average pop fan what a glissando is and revel in the confusion on their face.

Its true ... celebrities rule the world !! even Paris Hilton sings now !!

but hey since u really knowlodgeable bout music, and to still be on-topic

here's others RIP artists that I miss

Blind Lemon Jefferson
Slim Harpo
Ma Rainey
Mississippi John Hurt
Blind Blake
bessie Smith
Howlin Wolf

God I'm so in love with blues

You just won the all-time Jackpot. The only one I haven't heard of is Blind Blake. I have compilation CDs of the rest.

I'll have to add John Lee Hooker and Leadbelly to that list, and Son House. NOTHING chills me more than his "Louise Mcghee."

Here here brotha. We both deserve 20 lashings for failing to mention Odetta who passed away in recent months, I think December or November.

Oh yeah !!! i have so manyyy blues songs on my itunes thats so hard to name everyone ahahahha

Thats why i said my fav ones .. sory for ones i forgot

Leadbelly's The house of the rising sun ... is :wow:... lol

I hate to say BB King might be the next legend we lose, he usually tours and does shows sporadically but lately I haven't heard much from him. :(

ALSO RIP Dave Matthews Band saxophonist who died last year in an AV accident.

I thought BB did some shows recently i might be mistaken ...

anyways RIP to everyone we talked bout ;)
