If you'd like to see what it looks like where I live, you can do so at your local theater.

"Silver Linings Playbook," which is in wide release in the USA this week, was filmed in the Delaware County suburbs of Philadelphia, where I'm from.

I'm looking forward to seeing it. Roger Ebert gave it 3-1/2 stars.

It's not the first movie filmed here..."Invincible," with Mark Wahlberg, was also filmed here. And goodness knows there are many films set and filmed in Philadelphia. It's just that this new film is from my small corner of earth.

Are any films set or filmed in your hometowns?

The movies (The 10 Comanments and GI Jane) had many portions of it film in our town. The set for Ten Comandments is still there although mostly broken down from time and weather, and buried in sand drifts.

Changeling
The Hangover
Transformers
The Fast and Furious

And possibly a few others

Not really my home town but being from such a small nation it's always exciting whenever they shoot big foreign movies in the country. The winter scenes in season 2 of Game Of Thrones were shot here I love how it turned out.

^ I loved them as well!!! Every second of it!! Iceland is kinda like my dream place to live in when I was a child and even now.

Cool I'm glad you like it.

They shot parts of three Hollywood movies here this year. "Noah's Ark" (starring Russel Crow), "Oblivion" (starring Tom Cruise) and "Secret Life of Walter Mitty" (starring Sean Penn and directed by Ben Stiller). Also next year "Reykjavik" starring Michael Douglas. I'm very excited to see how those turn out.

If you want to check out some already out there they have pretty cool scenes in "Flags Of Our Fathers", "Die Another Day", "Batman Begins", "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider", "A Little Trip To Heaven" and "Prometheus".

My hometown is NYC. Films are being shot here everyday. Too many to name.

Awesome! I didn't know so much films were shot there. :luv: Now I'd really need to pay attention as I watch movies. I like Michael Douglas can't wait for the film to come out.

Movies filmed in part or full in or around Cleveland include:
Fun Size - 2012
The Avengers - 2012
Spiderman 3 - 2007
Air Force One - 1997
Happy Gilmore - 1996
Light of Day - 1987
Christmas Story - 1983
The Deer Hunter - 1978
The Fortune Cookie - 1966

Will be filming the Captain America sequel in 2013

My hometown has been in quite a few movies despite having only ~15k people in it. Walt Disney used to frequent the town (there was a landing strip near a school where he would land his plane). He used my town's name as the location of a few of his movies. There have been some other blockbuster films made here also.

I don't think anything has ever been filmed in my hometown...but the TV Show "Falling Skies" they were in Littleton for the first couple of episodes. Steve Carrel was developing a sitcom based on his time being a mail man in my town.

Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin just were filming about 10 minutes away all summer long.

Gone In 60 Seconds was gonna be filmed in my town of Dunkirk, NY but I think the director died in the filming of it. My mom was telling me the story years ago.

Thor II has some scenes from here they just finished filming. They also just finished filming the scenes for Game Of Thrones season 3. My cousin was a extra in season 2 I should give him a call and find out if he took part in it again.

Our currency drops and Hollywood just cant get enough :)

I see. That's pretty awesome! Cool to know you family is involved in a major production :D Haha yeah. a lot of people find me odd when I say I'd rather go to iceland than other country. Japan is second to me but it's rather expensive.

Take a picture of yourself at one of our black beaches and tell your friends you went to both Iceland and Japan .)

Haha yeah that's pretty smart. Not a fan of beaches though. I get burn fast and bad :p

LOL black beaches are usually cold its not really for sunbathing.

We have one man made yellow beach here which locals sunbath on. But its just 3 or 4 weeks a year when its hot enough to lay there. And thats the local standard, for some foreigners its probably never hot enough for them.

I see haha. Sorry excuse my low knowledge of the beaches.
