The advertising gaffe is another sign that “Diana” faces an uphill battle at the American box office. Reviews from England have been merciless, ranging from “flamboyantly atrocious” to “a special class of awful.” The film is scheduled for a Nov. 1 U.S. release.

The advertising gaffe is the placement of a 4'x6' poster, featuring Watts as Diana, near the entrance to the tunnel where Diana was mortally injured. Reports are the poster has been removed.

Despite being a huge fan of Naomi Watts, I am doubtful that it will approach anywhere near the greatness of The Queen or The King's Speech.
